Well dam, looks like the "window" is closing on the era of this Astros version................I am spoiled and pissed, yes I am a fan who is wishy washy LOL. They have no fight; they are spent and TBH I think they need a break. I sure hope they weren't trying to play for Joe`s job cause if they were they sucked at that, Joe seems like a nice guy, but he has proven he is not a leader of men.

I think that what makes this worse is that for the past decade, we could count on the Astros doing awesome things in the playoffs and I had "HOPE".......but with the Texans doing Texans things and Fred now out for the year for the Rockets, what do we as fans have to root for..............is this what it's like to live in Dallas and a fan of the Cowboys, Rangers and Mavs is all about? This blows

This feels more like a 2016 hiccup more than a 2006 beginning of the end vibe in all honesty.

It’s hard to say. The injuries are a reason to be optimistic about a rebound. But Altuve, Alvarez, and Correa all showed signs of potential age related decline. They’re losing one of their only 2 reliable SP and they have a heap of underwater contracts (Walker, Altuve, Hader, Javier, McCullers). It would not surprise me if the Astros went into a stretch as an also-ran.

This team does not want to get into the playoffs. That much is clear.

But hey at least we swept the dodgers in LA right? We'll always have that, right?

They’ve gone 29-39 since that series.

Scored 8 runs in the last 5 games and one swing scored 4 of them.

Haven’t had the lead in the last 5 games.

Insuring Joe gets his pink slip.

Astros have an extremely talented roster. They should be putting up runs. The fact they aren't, and there is data that there hitters were directly ordered to increase their lift. Its an organizational failure. Clean house. Dana Brown included.

Team needs a whole new rehaul but again, I think they are only a few moves from contending again.

100% on a full coaching staff reset. But why Dana?

Just looking at their numbers..Correa has...

    529 at bats
    13 homers
    50 RBI's

    Jake..

    343 at bats
    3 homers
    24 RBI's

    That's not good.

Fire Espada and get everyone healthy. Get a big bat and get rid of Walker. Done.

That's how I feel. Just need a reset, a few roster changes, and probably the entire medical staff should be fired...from a cannon.

Correa is not the problem. In 48 games as an Astroin 2025 Correa has put up 1.1 bWAR and a 114 OPS+. That’s on pace for a little under 4 WAR on the season. The Astros are paying him ~21M per year which if you look at $/WAR expectations is perfectly reasonable (5M per 1 WAR).

The alternative was below replacement level players like Zach Short.

Meyers is a bottom of the order hitter without much power. He put up 2.5 WAR in half a season and was a league average bat. He’s also not the problem.

They don't drive in runs and are not homerun threats. At this point it doesn't matter.

He gave them 185 innings of 3.75 era ball. He’s posted 4 consecutive seasons of 3.7 fwar or better. Yes, he’s sucked the last 1/3 of the season, but overall he’s been about as reliable as any pitcher in baseball.

Now that the season is over watch Framber come out and throw a no hitter or some **** to really rub salt in the wound
