Pretty crazy how unbothered I am by this injury

Ready for Amen & Reed to shine or at least Amen. I’m pretty happy Ime doesn’t have FVV to be honest

Damn shame we traded Whitemore. Ime should have no more say in roster decisions. He prioritized his boys FVV & KD and now Fred will probably never play for rockets again. Will KD even resign with us now?

Just hit me that FVV got injured after he was voted Players Association President.

    A little curse by CP3.

that was before there was an opening starting point guard spot on a contending team… also release or trade someone so not a big deal either

Waive Uncle Jeff, sign Cameron Payne. Sign uncle Jeff back in January when the prorated salary fits in 1A apron, if needed.

per 36min. numbers from last season:

    Games played/Start:
    FVV 60/60
    Payne 72/5

    FG%, / 3pt%, / FT%:
    FVV .378 /.345 / .810
    Payne .401 / .363 / .907

    Pt. / Reb. / Asi. / Stl. / TO
    FVV 14.4 / 3.8 / 5.7 / 1.6 / 1.5
    Payne 16.5 / 3.4 / 6.7 / 1.3 / 1.7

According to Cod Melton is waiting for us to reach out so he wants to be back, I’d say ****ing do it. Definitely less happy about a freaking Westbrook and definitely no Cam freaking Payne. He was trash with the Knicks! If anyone is waived, I’d say bye bye Holiday. We don’t need 2 midget PGs who are actually better at shooting than play making.

To be clear, the Rockets are facing a real crisis.

Having Amen take over FVV’s role is a significant issue. If we try to replace FVV with Amen, we’re essentially filling a starting spot with another starter, which means we still lose one of our key five. That creates two problems: first, our depth takes a hit, and second, the workload that FVV used to carry gets spread across the rest of the starters, increasing the risk of heading into the playoffs with more injuries. To avoid losing depth and to keep our roster healthier for the postseason, Reed needs to make his big leap this year.

Season’s over before it started. I’d rather lose KD, TBH. I’m so sad I can’t even look at this thread.

This is why I would’ve traded FVV, DB, and First Round pick instead of JG…..

We could’ve went with: Amen, JG, KD, Bari, Alpi as starters……

FVV has always been injury prone. We should’ve gotten off that contract asap.

Why are you doubting Amen so much? All FVV did was dribble slow and shoot 30 inefficient shots.

Are you suggesting Amen can play two positions at one time because that is the only thing the post you responded to doubted about Amen? I don't think the refs would buy putting him Ausar in a fake mustache and passing Ausar off as a second Amen.

Some people actually advocated trading for Ausar. Or maybe we can pull an alternate Amen from a parallel universe and start them together.

We have to be honest about FVV. He's on a two year contract. First year is gone. Half of the second year will be spent in extreme load management. He will probably give us half a season of good basketball if he bounces back.

Is it worth paying him $50m for that? He's a negative asset now I think. I know he's got off court leadership capabilities but that can be had for under $10m.

If there's anything worth hoarding picks for, it's situations like this. I think we should maybe send him and a top-10 protected pick back to the Raptors maybe he can wind down his career there and mentor some guys. He didn't get along with Masai I think, but that's not an issue now.

In return we can grab the slightly overpaid Quickley. He can give us a lot of quality minutes next to Amen in the back court.

Might be the best route for us when he becomes tradable. Either that or one of our backup C's. Even if Sheppard pans out, we need another solid rotation guard.

People who think FVV's injury is no big loss must be assuming all the other players will play 82 games each. Or that Reed will completely replace or surpass FVV's contributions. I think FVV's floor management skills are the biggest loss as we have no one on the roster who plays similarly. He would look to get KD and Sengun good shots, which is a harder skill than people think. The hit to our depth can't be understated either as our roster isn't full of iron men.

Aren't we hard capped at the 1st apron this year? Quickley makes $7.5M more than FVV. We'd have to throw in Capela or three of the minimum guys to make the deal work, I think. Also, FVV's deal was just enough to let us extend Amen next summer to the max, with about $75M leftover for KD and Tari's extensions collectively and filling the rest of the roster with minimum players, while avoiding the 2nd apron.

Quickley is younger and more productive in a vacuum, but his contract makes it really hard to keep the team together financially. The 2nd apron is extremely punitive and should be avoided at all costs. If anything, we should be looking to offload FVV's contract completely and use the DPE this year. I don't even know if that's possible though. Does any team have a big enough trade exception to absorb FVVs contract and would they even be willing?

What if we did no moustache but had them move in sync so we could say he's just seeing double?
