Bro they just reuped him two weeks ago right? $16.5 mil dead money over the next two years. Something must have gone down this morning or yesterday.

We’re slowly creeping into clusterf@ck territory again with this franchise.

Another whiff by Nick. Maybe he can trade for a good safety like Kyle Hamilton….

Are the Texans dysfunctional again? I thought we were done with that crap once Hannah got more involved and we got Demeco.

I don’t get the CJGJ strategy. I get he wants to go elsewhere, but could we at least see if a team he wants to go to has a depth piece at RB or OL before we just release him and get nothing (compensatory pick maybe?)

Just beyond odd to have that be the sole option. Also, his three games played are still worth trading away Green. I’d have traded Green for free.

Trading green for free would’ve been a far bigger return, we traded him for way less than free.

Nick Caley has an offense that’s dead last in every stat damn near. Where is the accountability in that ?

    Creeping? They are running brother.

They are in the process of ruining their QB. He has had two OC’s with no experience as NFL OC’s… they gave him a mediocre line, then gutted it the next year and didn’t address it…their GM has been an absolute failure at drafting on the OL… they successfully wasted the time their QB was on the rookie scale.

They are not a good organization from ownership down.

The GM should be fired - the HC should be told to shut up and coach the D and bring in a real OC to help Stroud and they need a GM that doesn’t think it’s a good idea to gut the OL and stick his thumb up his ass wondering why his QB is struggling and they aren’t winning.

This reminds me so much of the Bears situation for the last 30 years.

Cal needs to stop worrying about whether all his employees are evangelical Christians and worry more about getting the best people possible, even if he can’t invite them to his weekend chicken meal. Less Clay Walker and more ZZ Top.

Don’t worry - it isn’t all Caley, it’s the HC and GM that hired him - the gutted line and poor OL drafting … AND Caley sucking… it’s a multi dimensional problem but honestly, Cal is often asleep by the 4th quarter while Hannah looks at him disgusted.

    You thought wrong.

Caserio and others are still in the building and most importantly low IQ Cal is still there.

What's absolutely bat-**** crazy about this... CRAZY! DeMeco Ryans was here in 2006-2011 when Kubiak derailed peak Schaub/Foster/Johnson years by twice hiring first-time DCs, and he was here in 2011 when Wade Phillips immediately righted the ship in '11.

I'll give him a pass on Slowick but not Caley. Ryans should've known better. This is now the FOURTH time he has watched a championship-level unit on the Texans be derailed by the hiring of an inexperienced coordinator tasked with the improving the other unit.

It's baffling how this has happened again.

I am not sure what it is - but I have seen very bright and otherwise good head coaches make this same problem over and over before. Lovie Smith was an excellent leader with the Bears, he was an excellent defensive coach and he was very good at talent evaluation on that side of the ball --- but he kept hiring QB coaches and OC's that lacked experience and failed, and then when he did agree to a veteran OC, he went for ones that were not good. He had numerous opportunities to get someone that was very good.

Kubiak had that issue with the defense, he was brilliant on offense - but he just couldn't allow a good high profile DC until he was forced to.

I am afraid that this is where we are with Ryans.

My concern is that Ryans and Caserio will have a power struggle - Ryans will rightfully win, but then he will have a big say in how the GM search is handled and Ryans will basically get another OC he wants.

Ownership needs to set boundaries and spend the money to get the best OC. Replace Caserio, make it clear to Ryans that the GM is picking the next OC and if it works, reward Ryans - but the GM and HC need to have their own separate jobs.

Well… there are far worse things than Ryans winning a power struggle with Caserio and us getting a new GM. (Like, for instance, no power struggle and Caserio remain the GM…)

guessing they will ride it out for two more games and wait until the bye week to make any big changes (if any)

    Yeah, not happening.

CJG was the guy Ryans wanted.
