Unless it’s a really good guard coming back, the Rockets aren’t trading Tari Eason. The Rockets can run a lineup of Thompson-Finney-Smith-Durant-Jabari-Sengun with Eason, Sheppard and either Adams or Capela off the bench and still win a lot of games.
Derrick White CJ McCollum Zach Lavine (blech) Jrue Holiday DeJounte Murray The problem is FVV has to probably be involved and approve the trade. I could see the Rockets getting rid of Jabari. Some team might think him a bargain & they Already have too many 4s who can't guard down.
Would love for De'Anthony to come back to H-Town, but, probably doesn't happen on a vet minimum, even with him being out a season+ and still not signed. Outside of that, this is the reason Aaron was resigned, and we go into battle with him/Amen/Reed as the 96 minutes of 1/2 trio. Sounds pretty grim, unless both Reed and Amen take gigantic steps forward, which, isn't completely out of the realm of possibilities.
Well, that is what you think but that wasn't the reason he was let go.....his attitude was cat poop. And probably cannot process to play with his teammates efficiently.
A Rockers Clippers game I went to in LA way back. I promise a "Courtney Fortson" came in for just like 2 minutes. And Chris Paul just ATE HIM UP BAD in that time. Fortson looking like a junior high kid, like couldnt get the ball to half court. Pretty much cost Rockets the whole game lol. I haven't been to many games, but that was a biggest "does not belong" moment Ive seen live. Or its "CP3 is THAT good'. On that, CP3's playoff choking seems really odd. Because regular season he's one of the most nails closers in the game. Can feel his will imposed on the court. Thats with watching Kobe games in same arena, similar'ish feel. Felt very confident with his arrival in Houston. (Hell we can use current rocking chair CP3 now even)
Maybe losing FVV will force the Rockets to install more offense that relies less on a PG pounding the rock and reading PnR. Ideas like cutters, off-the-ball screens, spotting up shooters, etc.
Of the slim FA PG pickings, I think Delon Wright is the best option to give us some minutes. He's a 6'5" vet and a very good defender of Guards/Wings, shoots 35% from 3 and has a 3+ A/TO ratio. He's not going to give you a ton of creation/scoring, but he can give you 15-20 solid PG minutes where he doesn't turn the ball over and brings plus defense.
Ime will trust Okogie. He's a good defensive player. The problem is Okogie can't shoot. I am worried that if Reed and Holiday don't do well on defense, Ime will sacrifice shooting for better defense.
