Sucks, but it opens the door for Amen to get more reps at PG. I think he will be fine as a PG for this team, there might be some turnover issues but he is a smart player who is a student of the game.

I would like to see Amen, KD, Tari, Jabari, and Sengun as the starters. DFS, Reed, and Adams as your primary backups and Tate/Holiday/Okogie as your "stay-ready" crew and Capela in the Jock Landale role when Adams needs to be load managed.

I would dangle Cappella after December 15th to see what veteran guards become available. I wanted use to make a move for Lonzo Ball as a low risk, backup option in case Reed doesn't pan out. I don't think the Cavs will let him go.

I have no interest whatsoever in another round of Westbrook.

Question for the capologists out there, how does the injured player exception work? Would Fred's injury be eligible? If so, can we use it in a trade?Seems like the whole offseason is pretty much done and there really isn't anyone worth pickup up as a FA.

KD is also SUPER SUPER old and a shell of himself at this point, it's not like we're getting 28 year old KD. The name is still cool but as a player he's declined massively. It's hard to do anything in the playoffs without having a guy who can really organize an offense, and as of now we have absolutely nobody. Idk who the rockets could target that fits into the salary structure but i'm sure i'll listen to some podcasts and get some ideas.

It's all good. Between Jabari, Tari, Adams, and Capela we have enough guys to cover the minutes at point guard.

It's 2025. Neither Westbrook, or Beverley qualify as "big moves."

He is NOT a shell of himself at all, he is an elite scorer - my gawd man, come on....

He isn't the guy that will be the number 1 creator, but he can stand at the 3 point line and knock down shot after shot all game long.

Issue is the hard cap. Trading for Capela made it so the team cannot add any salary going forward. Even if they get the disabled player exception, they have to get rid of money first and then sign someone of equal or lesser pay. Practically speaking, if they want to get a legit PG, they have to trade one of their big salary players like Reed or DFS.

When is Capela available for a trade, having a 3rd string Center who can be starting is a huge luxury whenever you have huge holes all over the place.....

Christian Koloko or whoever .....should be a 3rd string.

Tell me again how necessary were the signings/re-signings of guys like Okagie, A. Holiday, Tate and Uncle Jeff instead of pursuing a legit backup PG first?

I try to be optimistic and hope that Reed will step up, Amen can also improve his ball handling abilities, and maybe some guard from the Vipers can also take part in our rotation and contribute. But it’s really hard to shake off the feeling that our season is doomed..

Gonna be an exciting season. I'm a bit more invested now with a 2nd year player thrown into a huge role for a contending team lol. That's gonna be super interesting.

A horrible blow even before the season started. Can the Rockets get a disabled player exception?

“Shell of himself”. Have you even watched Durant play the last couple of years. He is still one of the top 5 offensive players in the league and still plays decent defense. Ridiculous take. The only concern with Durant is staying on the court. When healthy he is still a superstar.

In the playoffs, Alpi was organizing the offense in the playoffs not FVV while Amen was attacking aggressively

This organizer Alpi and attacker Amen will be surrounded by shooters KD, Jabari, DFS, Reed

Freddie made a lot of shots when he was playing off ball.......

That was what he brought to the table, he could hold onto the ball and he could play off others.

And he was the best guard ..... by miles.

Glass half full, the injury happened in the off-season, so the front office still has time to try and trade for a starting PG before the season begins.

But regardless, what a devastating hit to a promising season. Damn.
