It will be determined in pre-season, but if Reed doesn’t look totallyylost, I think he will get a chance at SG on offense to start the season. If he plays scared, I think they will start Holiday unfortunately. You don’t want Amen being forced to guard PG’s unless it’s their best offensive player and DFS or Tari is incapable. They might also be flexible on who starts based on matchups. It is where we will miss FVV the most, unless Reed really makes a leap on the defensive side. He has really quick hands, but he played out of position a bunch and gambles a lot. Holiday gets hunted every time he is on the floor.
PG Reed SG Amen SF KD PF Bari C Alpi With Fred out I predict we go full Sen-Hub this season and Alpi will not disappoint.
I think we will learn a lot about how they feel about Reed’s progression. I think if he’s close he starts. But I don’t think the see this season as a development season so he will have to be really close. I’d like to see Amen, Tari, Bari, KD, Sengun Or double big: Amen, KD, Bari, Sengun, Adams
Reed / Amen / KD / Jabari / Sengun I see Amen running the backcourt though. Amen & Sengun probably playmakers outside KD I could see Ime rolling out Amen / KD / Tari / Bari / Sengun **** I hate that we traded Cam
How about Amen Tari KD Bari Sengun? Edit: PatBev beat me to it. Speaking of him, PatBev on this team doesn’t sound too bad now.
Reed is going to get all the first team reps in camp. That’s the only way to even have a chance of being ready opening night. Fred is going to have to be his Yoda this year. Time to **** or get off the pot!
The lineup can’t be all big because if Amen is guarding the best player that happens to be a wing, you are leaving a big to guard the opposing team’s point guard.
I feel like they're either trading Tari for a guard, or I really really hope they lean into the Senhub and then run both terror twins with Alpi, KD and Bari. We'd have to hope Tari could hit some open 3's but if KD and Bari can carry a huge part of the stretching the floor load the insane defense of starting the terror twins and Bari with Alpi cleaning up could actually just make up the difference.
You would need at least 2-3 ball handlers out there in case of a tight situations and you cannot be pressured. Alpe is a passing big but he is not counted as ball handler in that sense.
My guess is -Amen -KD -Tari -Jabari -Sengun With the oft chance we go (depending on matchups) -Amen -KD -Tari -Sengun -Adam’s I highly doubt Reed starts even though I do think he’ll get plenty of PT and a chance to earn the spot during the season. KD and Sengun though will be the initiators of the offense even if Amen is bringing the ball down the court. People forget how big we got this offseason with the Capela signing. I think Ime might say fck it and go as big as possible as much as he can and rely on half court 90’s style offense.
I think Amen - Tari - KD - Bari - Sengun represents our best lineup. However, Reed should get starter’s reps and be given every chance to start whether it’s at the 1 or 2. This whole situation will make the preseason a helluva lot more interesting.
It is still all about spacing. FVV generated good shots because he was decent in the PnR and smart. He was god awful at his own shot. Let Reed start the first 15 games. It’ll be clear pretty quick.
I already expected DFS to start, but now I'm even more convinced. Amen will guard the oppositions best scorer. We need a 2nd defender who can guard scoring wings, but also guard the bigs that we don't want Sengun guarding. That was Brooks role last year and DFS is likely candidate for that role. For example, . Amen played Ja and Brooks played JJJ against Memphis. Speed guys who can score well could be a problem if they play with another strong offensive player. Example, against Cleveland, Amen had to guard Mitchell and we had nobody to guard Garland. FVV got the Garland assignment, but he scored at just under 64%.
I'd say let's call in 10 million from Fred's contract.....dude signed an extension and gets injured the next couple months. Leave him couple million to get cozy at home with.
