It just hastened the inevitable. It will hurt our defense the most, unless Reed gets way better and stops gambling so much on that end of the floor. I actually think our offense will improve if Reed can hit the spot up threes which was going to be FVV’s main focus on offense this year. Ime tried to implement FVV off the ball the latter part of last year and I’m sure that was his intention this year. It really hurts our depth, because Holiday is way overrated on this board. He and Reed will be a horrible tandem, especially defensively, if they have to share the court much. Hopefully, Okogie’s 3 pt shooting was for real last year. I hope Ime doesn’t get nervous and play Durant monster minutes because of this.

Why so he can not show up in a crucial game in the playoffs for the billionth time?

This is where Stone's decision to trade Cam Whitmore for 2 srps hurt us massively. It is one of the misses in Stone's career, why trade Cam when he have him by the collar for the next 5 yrs? Even if he wanted out, Rox should have kept him rather than trade him for trash.

whitmore and Amen had great chemistry, could have been our backcourt of the future.

Agreed, I’m in the minority that never wanted Durant. We aren’t ready to compete at level yet imho.

Reed Sheppard looked really good in Las Vegas Games. Looked more comfortable.

There was a thread on this board that we needed guards before the injury. There's no chance Holiday is overrated on this board when many see him as nothing.

No, we are hard-capped at first apron due to capela sign-n-trade as far as i know.

This is going to be a test on Ime as well. He based his game plan on fvv holding the ball and the fvv/sengun pnr. Now that both are gone, wonder how he will perform.

I'm just going to sit here and pretend FVV was included in the trade for Durant since the package was a little light anyway, and I'm definitely going to enjoy the Rockets having a 6'7 and up starting line up until Reed is ready to takeover the starting role. I wasn't a fan of the Rockets extending FVV, but it is what it is. Reed is about to have the the most expensive personal coach to ever exist.

Either way, and with apologies to Uncle Jeff, NOBODY born in the 80's is gonna determine ( on the floor at least ) what this squad's ceiling is...And for that matter, the guys born in the 90's don't matter NEARLY as much as the dudes born this century for this franchise's future....
And I'm sayin this as a fan who vividly remembers watchin The Chairman (Moses) drag a scraggly-ass losin-record-havin squad of mostly stumblebums in Rocket red to within 2 wins of a World Championship against Bird, Parrish, and Kevin in '81....when we beat Kansas City to reach the Finals. Yep. Kansas City.
They'll be all right, youth must be served, and Fred aint really exactly vleet of foot any more anyway

    Amen. Is. Not. A. PG.

I just don’t see it. All you Fred haters got your wish.

If the Rockets don’t trade for a solid PG or Reed doesn’t grow up fast, I think it hurts the Rockets in a big way.

FVV was going to be 3rd option at best this season. He'd probably bring the ball up, but the pnr is much more advantageous being ran with Durant and Sengun vs 6'0 FVV and Sengun. Sengun and Durant will both draw multiple defenders so the Rockets need a player who can step up and hit open shots. The leadership qualities FVV brings to the team, Durant has that. Now if Durant goes down it's a much different story.
