[SHAMS] Fred VanVleet - Torn ACL - Out for the season

They had no choice but to re-sign FVV. Was there another PG in FA available for that money? or even at all? We would have been in the same predicament if they spent money on other positions.

 

Start Amen at the 1. Go get a good shooter for cheap.

 

This is TERRIBLE news. This team won't be able to reach its true potential without a true PG like Fred.

 

We have Reed Sheppard who is a better, younger version of him.

 

If we're pinning title hopes on Sheppard, we are f$#cked. He's nowhere near ready to even start, much less give us a steadying presence at the point.

 

Yes they would. He is our vocal leader & most reliable player besides KD in the clutch

Takes care of the ball, initiates the offense, and defends PGs. That's a PG.

 

Seems like people expect Reed to start and if that’s the case we’re done and it means Ime doesn’t trust Amen to handle it. Btw KD can handle PG duties just fine.

 

This really sucks! We’ll probably miss his leadership more than his pg skills. On the flip side an opportunity for Sengun and Amen to morph into leaders.

 

I take it you didn't watch last season or you don't know what you are seeing when you watch.

 

Bite the bullet and just sign Westbrick. Have Reed start but if it goes horrible wrong for like 20-30 games, then give reigns to Amen or make a trade. Reed starting but give ball responsibilities to Amen and Sengun as well. Reed's defense is his biggest issue when he's a starter, Amen and Jabari can hopefully make up for that. The starting unit minus Reed will sill be very lengthy.

Westbrook already has ties with like 3 people on the team, he'll fit in just fine in terms of locker-room. Whether he actually wants to play next to KD is an issue. Yea, he makes Westbrick mistakes but last year coming off the bench for the Nuggets, dare I say he performed pretty well. Even got some votes for 6Moty.

Also, I think Ime will like Westbrook as a player cuz his whole gimmick now that he's older is that he's a hustle player. Ime as we all know doesn't really care about your offense, he wants guys to play defense first, with energy.

And for KD to earn a bit more of that huge salary.

 

It just means Amen isn't a PG and trying to force him to be one would just take away what he's best at.
