That’s actually a good point. I’d love to see any of these line-ups: Amen, Tari, DFS, KD, Jabari Amen, KD, Jabari, Sengun, Capela Amen, KD, DFS, Jabari, Sengun KD, Tari, Jabari, Sengun, Capela KD, Tari, Jabari, Sengun, Adams KD, DFS, Tari, Jabari, Sengun
The contingency plan is if injuries rack up and/or Reed / Holiday aren't up to par then we have the mid season deadline. I doubt the Rockets would give up on Reed aside from a lucrative trade, but they are not going to wait for Reed.
Now, the Rockets need another guard. I take the loss on this one as I expected the Rockets to have enough. Though, I have more faith in Reed stepping up than I do in a PG that would have been willing to sign while FVV was healthy and Reed was almost guaranteed developmental minutes.
I’d rather have Monte Morris as an additional veteran depth piece, but I could live with Westbrook playing off Sengun in a similar matter to how he did with Jokic last year.
More importantly, Ime absolutely hated him, there's no chance he'd have let him play no matter what happened. It's time for people to move on.
The only thing dumber than ditching Cam for a second round pick would be keeping him & expecting him to replace FVV. I can't think of a role on the team he's less equipped to fill
We are hard-capped at the 1st apron. We are not allowed to exceed the 1st apron for any reason. Currently, we are $1,255,558 below the 1st apron. NBA minimum salaries are based on years in the league. The lowest minimum salary is for a player who has 0 years of NBA experience. That minimum is $1,272,870 - more than the space that we have available. We are unable to outright sign anyone right now. We would have to shed salary to be able to sign anyone. Most likely, we go into the season with the current roster.
