Morey traded for Harden on a Saturday 35 days from now, 13 years ago. Stop looking at Felicia's selfies and get on the phone, Raphael.

I'm curious what it looks like with Reed starting though.

Need to find some Matt Maloney type (good enough to a start in the NBA) PG in the G League or overseas.

Edit: Slow to post. Incorrect. The Rockets could get a DPE, but it would not change the fact that the Rockets are hard-capped at the first apron.

I imagine they will roll with Amen/Reed as the primary PG's and Holiday as the backup depth.

This team should still be good enough to stay in playoff position even if Reed fails. If midseason comes and we clearly have to upgrade the PG spot we have assets and tradeable salaries to make it happen.

    We will be fine.

    Amen
    Reed
    Holiday

Each one can play PG - and all bring something different.....at least now we can play faster.

Get well soon Fred....and next man up !

True. There's no need to rush into a trade for another PG. Let's see how a Reed/Amen backcourt does to start out the season. Their first 20 games aren't that brutal. If they emerge from that with a good record, stick with that tandem. If the team badly misses the presence of a veteran starting PG, then it may be time to package Tari and one of those future lottery picks.

I wonder if this injury affects the Tari extension.

Everyone better get used to this roster. Unable to trade newly signed players at least until December 15th I believe and we have no cap space.

fred sucked on offense but defensively is where we’ll take a hit now. we’re gonna eventually need a seasoned vet to replace him. maybe melton, even if he can’t shoot

To be fair, I didn’t have us as a real contender this season anyway but I thought we had an outside chance next year (assuming internal growth and retention of key players). Fred isn’t the Rockets best player but he is the on the court leader. J

To be fair, I didn’t have us as a real contender this season anyway but I thought we had an outside chance next year (assuming internal growth and retention of key players). Fred isn’t the Rockets best player but he is the on the court leader. Just look at how much the team struggled when he was out, now multiply that over an entire season.

Durant isn’t the kind of leader Fred is and I doubt Sengun and Amen are ready to assume that role just yet.

Additionally, give his extension and timing of the injury, there isn’t anyone of not left to replace Fred. Maybe there’s hope for next season but an undersized guard on the wrong side of 30 coming back from a serious knee injury? Yea it doesn’t look good.
