Yup and we knew we weren’t going to have them this year too, same with Tunsil. Caserio replaced them with 3 rookies + Christian Kirk.

Edit: I’m high on these rookies for what it’s worth but we are going to take our lumps with them more often than not, Ersery being the case in point today.

Wait, so replacing 2 guys that didn't play with a solid vet and 2 promising rookies made the WR corps *worse*?

So improvement from a numbers standpoint alone?

Caserio's fatal mistake last offseason is he approached it as if we were still in a rebuild, when he should have approached it as a refinement.

Refinement means directly addressing the weaknesses that kept you from reaching the next level. Refinement is hiring a seasoned OC and not an experimental one. Refinement is I have a talented young QB on a cheap contract, how do I help make him better?

Who did they replace with worse players?

This is what I've been trying to get you to answer.

The Bears are doing exactly what the Texans should have done with Stroud. They hired a top OC to head coach and invested money and picks into improving their O-line while Caleb Williams is on a rookie contract.

Diggs for one. Metchie maybe? If you’re saying this group is better because they replaced guys that didn’t play, that’s fine. But this is not a good WR corp currently. Coupling that with the OL is a big reason we are 0-3, and that’s on Caserio IMO.

To be fair, Caserio has invested picks in the Oline. He just sucks at drafting

he can’t find talent or coaching. Reason why he has any success is Belichek makes any scrub look good. DD could play offensive line under him.

Caserio spent a lot of capital on aging skill position players. The last draft had some elite WRs. They were in position to draft Brian Thomas. Instead, they traded a second on an aging malcontent who has lost a step. Imagine not being able to play with Josh Allen. It was a real tell when they jettisoned his ass. Caserio gave a second for 9 games of Diggs and over $16 million in dead cap money.
Caserio is the problem. We need to get the taint of New England off of this team, fast.
