The $50,000 bribe was delivered in a CAVA bag.

In an undercover operation last year, the FBI recorded Tom Homan, now the White House border czar, accepting $50,000 in cash after indicating he could help the agents — who were posing as business executives — win government contracts in a second Trump administration, according to multiple people familiar with the probe and internal documents reviewed by MSNBC.

The FBI and the Justice Department planned to wait to see whether Homan would deliver on his alleged promise once he became the nation’s top immigration official. But the case indefinitely stalled soon after Donald Trump became president again in January, according to six sources familiar with the matter. In recent weeks, Trump appointees officially closed the investigation, after FBI Director Kash Patel requested a status update on the case, two of the people said.

It’s unclear what reasons FBI and Justice Department officials gave for shutting down the investigation. But a Trump Justice Department appointee called the case a “deep state” probe in early 2025 and no further investigative steps were taken, the sources say.

If true, then you must ask yourself, why is the FBI offering bribes to future leaders?

The FBI tried to do to him what they did to Michael Flynn. Perfect example of Deep State trying to entrap and eliminate people who aren't cooperative to their interests... or obtain kompromat to obtain control over them later.

Liberals still pretend the Deep State doesn't do this type of stuff... how naive....

This is explicitly what the "Deep State" is supposed to be doing. Internal Affairs operations are meant to root out corruption, especially blatant ones like this. It's no different than IT sending out phishing emails and making those who click it do training.

So Homan will do training?, LOL. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Deep State also fabricated “evidence” of Homan accepting the Deep State fake bribes.

It’s obvious entrapment and aimed at eliminating Homan. This is the Deep State playbook for maintaining control. This subverts democracy, as the Deep State are unelected and largely unaccountable. Trump is ending this misuse of power.

What Homan or anyone in his position should have done was to deny the bribe. Or reported it to his own internal affairs. Homan abused his position of authority and committed a crime. Entrapment does not absolve him.

    Corruption must be rooted out.

Tom Homan was not the target of a counterintelligence investigation. He only became a subject after his encounter with undercover agents.

According to the NYT: "The cash payment, which was made inside a bag from the food chain Cava, grew out of a long-running counterintelligence investigation that had NOT been targeting Mr. Homan."

"Mr. Homan's encounter with the undercover agents, recorded on audiotape, led him to be investigated for potential bribery and other crimes, after he apparently took the money and agreed to help the agents."

In short, Homan became a subject because of his actions during the encounter, not because he was originally under investigation.

This is ****ing unreal - if there is no justice, this is 100% why people take justice into their own hands.

RIDICULOUS that we have this corrupt administration of traitors in charge, why should any of us pay taxes, or follow the rules if our leaders don't have to .....we are SCREWED as a country, and I am embarrassed that so many ignorant people voted for this....

How naive you must be! Keep in mind the NYT has been the mouthpiece for the intel agencies for years...

Trump rightfully ended this entrapment. And at this point, I'd assume the FBI fabricated the evidence on Homan as well. They have given us no reason to believe them over the years.

LMAO its the Democrats fault that he took the bribe. Hilarious amount of cope. This is what a low iq cult looks like. It's always someone else's fault and not the guy who took the bribe.

Jesus it really is the dumbest group of people in society. I wonder if these cultists @cml750 realize it was their orange messiah who nominated the fbi director under Biden.

I'm laughing my ass off that the MAGA cultists are blaming democrats for Tom taking the money. I sincerely cant stop laughing

Arguably this is just a down payment on a lobbying contract. I guess he probably got tipped off in January, early enough for him to report it on his taxes, when otherwise he obviously wouldn't have reported it. Remember that Trump insiders made some good money back in January 2021 selling "lobbying" access to pardon seekers. In Washington, the real crime is what is legal.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is going after the real criminals, Democrats who piss off Trump.

It wasn’t just the NYT. FBI counterterrorism has been ongoing for decades. Your prior claim was pure speculation with no support, and the evidence points the other way. If you want to make that claim, show proof; otherwise, you’re just supporting corruption with baseless assertions of "fabricated evidences".

The DOJ under this admin hasn’t made that claim - if they had the data, they would. That speaks for itself and shows just how baseless your assertion is.
