Does that mean they go back to the Kubes system and rearrange the entire line again. Not that it would matter since 3 more are going to get replaced at the end of the year. Hello zone, my old friend.
Screen shots of a guys 4th read at the end of a guys drop back just makes it clear what your agenda is. If he doesn’t get tipped it’s a TD. You have to play hindsight QB to push some weird agenda. It’s just toxic energy.
I'm so jealous of watching some of these other teams play. Then you watch the Texans and you're like WTF is this product?
I agree with both you and Bobby here. The play should have been flipped to allow for the chip, as well as getting it closer to the sideline. I also agree that even after all that, the play STILL should have gone to Marks, and CJ should have known that. It's so frustrating because reading through this thread, various people are attributing our failures to a lot of different causes, and literally EVERYBODY is right. This offense is a total and complete dumpster fire, and you can blame everyone from Caserio to DeMeco to the OC to the OL coach to CJ to the OL to the WRs to the RBs. Every single facet of this offense is complete and utter ****, and they all need to be taken to task for it. But again, this soft ass media here will not do anything, and will allow DeMeco to smile his way out of an awkward press conference, and go back to the friendly confines of NRG. Hell, for as good as the defense is, even they have made some incredibly undisciplined, idiotic plays in these first 3 games. If you're going to do the "let's keep it close until the 4th" thing that DeMeco wants to do, then you CANNOT give up 2 game-winning drives for TDs in the 4th quarter in the first 3 games. If DeMeco wants to be THIS hands off with the offense, then he damn well better have a defense that gives up NOTHING in the 2nd half of these games. I don't care that we've only give up 14, 20, and 17 in the first 3 games.....the bulk of those points have come when the game is in the balance. DeMeco has lost all the good will he created in the first year and a half of his tenure year, and we are now in the uncomfortable period most mediocre coaches face with their fanbases. It's up to him to figure out how he's going to turn this around.
The fact that it was his 4th read just means he's an idiot. Given the proper read of the defense, that should have been his FIRST option, it was the easy first down the defense gave him. If the ball isn't tipped, he's still throwing to a guy who was covered fairly tightly with an additional DB over the top. It was the wrong read and it was VERY unlikely to be completed.
It's definitely caught at the 2 or a P.I at the 2 yard line. But I'm not confident they would have punched it in and they run out of time.
That’s an insane comment. NFL offenses largely don’t work like that. You have an order and it’s based on rhythm. Kirk was read 3 by the way. You would think that would kill the haters buzz that he doesn’t go through reads but funny enough it’s still getting said. it wasn’t a bad decision if he had a below average offensive line. He doesn’t even have that.
It's about making the CORRECT decisions, not about going deep or checking it down. At different times, both can be the right read. He opted to hold on to the ball to attempt a throw to a guy who was covered with help over the top rather than making the read that the defense cleared out of the middle giving his RB an easy quick first down.
I'm talking about just mentality to dominate. The thought process of how to approach games offensively is so weak with this team.
They 100% do "work like that" when you have a smart QB that can read defenses. The play design cleared out the entire middle of the field, so the second the QB reads that, he should immediately go to the RB for the easy first down. The fact that CJ can't do that in year 3 is why he's not a good QB. The option to hold on to the ball for literally twice as long as he should have is why the play failed....but even if the ball isn't tipped, it's still unlikely to be completed because it was the wrong read to begin with. Saying "**** it, I'm going deep" and chucking up a pass to a guy who is covered AND has a DB over the top is what stupid QB's do.
Brother, how is it a toxic agenda to simply say that the right read in that situation was the one he missed?? It's not revisionist either. I yelled it at the TV in real time as it happened. The simple fact is that CJ was not good today, and he has not been good this season so far. That's not toxic. It's facts. I also firmly believe that he is swimming upstream in terms of his development because he's surrounded by a coaching staff and FO that, to date, has failed him in terms of building an adequate line around him, and hasn't given him the tools to succeed. Slowik and now Caley have both been duds, and do nothing for him developmentally. But....CJ takes part of that blame too. It is what it is.
Jared Goff was garbage at one point(up for mvp pre Texans game last year), and Daniel Jones was considered one of the worst QB’s in the league. Now Daniel Jones looks like Josh Allen with a good offensive mind. Everything matters. You guys cry about CJ if he isn’t perfect. Ultimately, on a 3-5 step drop on 3rd and 1, you shouldn’t be getting hit in under 2 seconds. You guys are ferociously playing hindsight couch QB in here and it’s laughable. Had he not gotten hit, it’s likely a TD. Watch some solid content. QB School is a great recommendation. He covers all QB’s each week(former NFL QB)If you watched, you wouldn’t be in here clamoring about Stroud not reading a defense or being a 1 read QB. There’s literally people saying this without zero context. He does. The offensive system is pure ass. He’s in the worst situation in the league. Trust is blown. I flamed him hard for his first INT… but my god. He doesn’t have help.
Is that... is that... a Yankees' hat?? I guess it's better than a Mariners' hat or is this AI generated? It won't play for me
