I can't tell if this is a coaching issue or personnel issue.

The offensive line is arguably better this year with less talent than last year.

We can't run the ball for **** of course, but we also don't have Mixon and it's not like last year's unit was gangbusters running either.

Slowik made dumb situational choices and obviously let the OL rot, which is not something you can fix in a single off-season.

I feel like the lack of creativity and balance on offense has to be due to Caley's lack of confidence in his players. It just has to be.

The o line is not arguably better. Where are you pulling that from?

When you shuffle (drastically) the personnel three weeks in a row… and likely will do so again for next week… you have nothing.

even the worst lines get better over time with more reps and more familiarity with each other. They’re changing it every week because they either know how bad certain people are, or they just have no clue as to what they’re doing (largely due to inexperience).

He wouldve been more than enough. We would be 2-1 right now if we had scored as much as the Raiders did the first 3 weeks.

I would fire Nick Caserio tomorrow.; if not later tonight. And I dont think that’s a talk radio hot take, either.

He’s drafted Green, Suggs and Fisher - all busts. Traded for Shaq Mason years after his prime. Shopped in the bargain bin for linemen after one of the worst offensive line performances in a very long time. Traded his best OL and used the picks to draft a WR that can’t get on the field.

If he wasn’t instrumental in a John Carroll/ Patriot hire with Caley, he sure-as-**** should’ve told DeMeco under no circumstances is he allowed to hire another inexperienced OC.

And four years into it, he’s still shopping for one-year stop gaps and refusing to bring in younger, more expensive players as if David Culley is still coaching the team (another Caserio whiff, btw - 2 HCs in 2 years): Mixon; Diggs, Cam Robinson, Tomlinson, Chubb…

Nick Caserio has been an utter disaster.

The challenge is that our owner is, let’s say, less than Mensa-level. So he can’t tell the difference between actual smart people and “leaders of men” who project all the right qualities but just aren’t creative or legitimately intelligent. Ryans is not Easterby, but it’s flavors of the same thing.

It’s always been a challenge in football but eventually the better teams figured out that culture is important, but brains and talent matter more, especially on offense.

Cal judging intelligence is like @Bobbythegreat judging leadership or any human interaction - he just cannot understand what he’s seeing, and doesn’t know enough to realize how little he knows. And, as with Bobby, it’s our curse because he ain’t going anywhere.

The Texans are averaging 4.4 YPC, which is 17th (league average basically) as we speak

I wonder what it is if you remove Stroud’s scrambles?

Clint Stoerner finally said something I agree with. Caley is trying to install one of the most cerebral and difficult to learn offenses in football in an era when everyone is trying to make things easier bc they just aren’t making those types of QBs anymore.

I honestly don't know the answer to that, I don't think there is one...but the firings would be to display accountability more than to improve. This season was effed before it began

If Caley was so smart… why have they had three massively different O-line arrangements for every game this year?

I don’t remember that being part of any era of successful offensive football.

We need to get rid of Caserio and Caley. I'm tired of the Patriot way guys. It's clear the Patriot way was the fact they had Tom Brady for 20 years. None of their coaches have done a thing outside Foxborough.

I’m not taking all the blame away from Stroud - but a lot of this is terrible play calling, poor drafting on the OL and then gutting the OL and not even trying to fix it.

Stroud has never had a real OC in the NFL.

A number of good QB’s have been ruined by the OC/OL duo of incompetence.

The only thing they can realistically do now is look at the OC and playcalls. CJ is here to stay the rest of the year and next, the OL is what it is, and the same with RB. The only emergency change that could be done now is replace the OC... it can either get better or stay as it is (cant get worst than what it is now)
