Classic Texans. Basically Demeco is gone after the year. If they don't get an Offensive Playcalling head coach this disaster is going to continue to repeat itself. Nick Caserios seat should be flaming hot for not hitting on one O-line pick.
They are not firing Demeco. LOL. They have lost 3 games....basically on the last play of the game. Yes, the offense sucks. Get a grip.
Honestly... I love Demeco as a player and DC. I guess Im at a point that im too damn tired to wait around like we did with Kubiak near the end and way to long with o'brian. It's year 3, and at this point we should be at a much better position than this...I want Demeco to have one more year, but let's hire a real OC for him next year.
What sucks is it's so hard to tell if it's the GM and possibly the coach failing CJ or if CJ and possibly the GM and coaching staff all suck.
It's highly, highly unlikely that Demeco gets fired regardless of how the season plays out. However he is very much looking like an amazing coordinator who doesn't have a single clue how to put an offensive coaching staff together. On top of that all of this teams draft and financial assets have been disproportionately given to the defense. The offense is Nico, Stroud and the bargain bin.
It's the Peter Principle. Every employee rises to a level where they cannot perform effectively. Hiring decisions are made based on success in your current role, not your suitability for the next, elevated role. Demeco was great as a DC... but has struggled as a head coach. DC is an easier position intellectually -- as defense is less about scheme and more about players' athleticism and emotion.
He made the playoffs in his first 2 seasons. Won playoff games in both. How has he struggled? The person you need to look at is Caserio and his OL decisions. Caserio also has the final say in Coordinator hirings.
Gotta dig deeper. The Texans were 5-1 inside the division last year... the worst division in football. They had a losing record outside of the division. Is the team getting better each season? The weapons are there on both sides of the ball.
Bottom line is this team has problems everywhere. -QB has regressed and can't read blitz and holds the ball too long -No running game -bad offensive line -receivers that can't get open -penalties everywhere -Defense that can't hold when it is needed You can't pinpoint it on one individual because offensively, these problems build upon each other and exacerbate the issue
I never buy whatever PR they shovel out to the fan base. I go by what my eyes tell me. That's why I came into this game expecting the L because they can't address the mistakes Caserio & Co. made during the off-season now that they have to play games that count. The only team they appear to have an edge over in the division is the Tennessee Oilers. Oh well, get ready for a week of petty fighting over which team should get to wear the Oilers colors.
And it’s not hard!: CJ, what type of offense are you comfortable in? Cool; we’ll find the best, most experienced coach we can who knows that system…. I mean…: ****ing a. Fire Nick Caserio. He’s been a disaster.
How often has CJ had ALL of his weapons? They have NO run game without Mixon. Last season, Nico missed 5 games, Diggs missed half the season, Tank missed the last 3 games and playoffs last season and the last 6 the previous season. The problem for a QB, is you need help. He is NOT Brady...and Brady had help early in his career with veterans and an OC who could scheme up an offense. The big mistake was not gettting a veteran OC.
