What? Race obsessed much? Besides it's the blacks who are given preferential treatment in the job market not whites.

I received nearly every promotion I ever went for when I worked in the business world. I never witnessed anyone get a promotion over me due to race/gender. But maybe I was just good at my jobs.

Now that I work in mental health I have a minority female CEO for the first time in my professional career. She seems cool. I made her laugh at a work party.

Now it’s not even annually. It’s just one time. If the White House thinks it should apply.

You truly are a deranged individual. There is nothing filling your mind other than blaming whitey for everything. This will directly benefit STEM graduates from HBCU's who are unable to find work atm. It's not that hard to click a link and spend 3 minutes reading an article, but this puts an end to Indian companies gaming the system and having a hush hush deal where American companies would pay H1B's salaries much lower than an American worker.

Umm, this will primarily affect the ridiculously wealthy tech companies who game the system to leave out "market value" American workers. Period. They can definitely afford to pay full price to American workers but they choose not to.

The wording throughout is aimed at the companies exploiting the system.

Physicians will be fine and I assume when we see the actual wording, hospitals /medical practices will be able to submit exemption forms.

Doesn't affect me in the slightest as my entire workforce is domestic and legal. It's a higher margin business but I'm not looking to game the system and undercut American wages.

What is the cost differential and timeline of training domestic vs international recruits? I am hearing of ideas like loyalty programs where if you are trained by a company you are unable to work for another company for 5 or so years, or atleast until the training period is paid off.

You’re not wrong that DEM have been slow on H1B reform. But it’s not just the DEM. There have been bipartisan proposals from both DEM and REP, but none have ever made it to the floor for a vote.

    Here is one from 2022:
    https://www.grassley.senate.gov/new...e-bipartisan-h-1b-l-1-visa-reform-legislation

Sponsor(s): Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL)

The $100k fee is not a real solution. It blocks those who cannot pay while letting anyone with money in, instead of focusing on highly skilled workers not available in the US, which is what H1B was originally meant for. The admin can grant exceptions at will, opening the door to favoritism or abuse, much like we’ve seen with selective tariffs and other special treatments. This EO may not even survive legal review, since Congress, not the President, typically sets visa fees.

The company pays when they sponsor a Visa. The worker doesn't pay.

the H1B system is a scam for companies to have low paid workers that have their employment tied to their legal immigration status. The government is subsidizing companies by selling out your country. ie a PhD in Chemistry being hired as a "lab tech" job title instead of research scientist so the salary (which has to be filed with application) makes sense and is competitive for title.

This corrects the market by placing a value on USA residence.

Employer can pass on optional costs, like attorney fees, to the workers. It’s a loophole that favors those who can afford it.

Reform is needed. This fee is not a real solution and can backfire. See medical fields.

    No, they can't.
The employer is responsible for paying for the following fees that make up the H1B petition application:

    From Redlining to Jim Crow

This is just starting Jim Crow all over again

Amigo, are you bringing up Jim Crow Laws that have been banned for 60 YEARS? Really?

It's time to turn the page -- you can't live that far in the past and have good mental health.

    GOOD DAY
