-Disney and Nexstar both have multiple billion dollar mergers that the Trump doj are currently reviewing.

    - The FCC which has to approve the billion dollar mergers told ABC there would be major consequences if they did not take actions.

These are the only facts that matter in the case. Everything else is copium and braindead conspiracies. If ABC was going to fire Kimmel anyways then there no need for the FCC to make threats to the network.

    End of discussion

What Kimmel said wasn't so much vile but saying the killer was MAGA was a flat out lie.

Again. The difference is the network canceled her show bcz of capitalism and free market. The FCC did not tell the network they would face consequences if they didnt.

If ABC was going to fire Kimmel anyways then the FCC overstepped and should not have made a threat to the network. Blame the incompetent FCC for being obsessed with culture wars.

Sincerely speaking but why are all you right wingers sincerely so utterly stupid? How do you people not have the mental capacity to understand facts.

He said the killer was MAGA? Or was he pointing out the hysterical outburst by leading social media stars of MAGA (and hundreds of anonymous MAGA followers) that the shooter was definitely a leftist and we need a civil war now before any information was available? Because while I get the emotional nature of watching someone you looked up to die a horrific death, the healthy outlet was not to call for calling of your political enemies.

As basso said earlier, the shooter in the end was a gooner not a groyper. He was a 4Chan Nihilist who hated Kirk.

'No evidence' found yet of ties between Charlie Kirk's shooting and left-wing groups, officials say
Three people familiar with the federal probe into Kirk’s assassination told NBC News that investigators have yet to find a link between the alleged shooter and left-wing groups.

The FCC told the network they would face consequences and the FCC said, " we would have a very long day if ABC does not take action." Again you can keep trying to play dumb bcz you have to sane wash the admin but the only person to blame is Carr.

There's definitely an argument to be made that Kimmel wouldve been fired anyways which makes the FCC threats even dumber. Its like having a suspect dead to rights but the prosecutor throws the case by saying something wrong in court.

    Blame the FCC

This is exactly why regulators should stay the hell away from podcasts or other partisan media channels. There's zero upside to going on a podcast and talk about a pending issue. This is why prosecutors and law enforcement dont usually talk about pending investigations

    From the article:

“A person close to the show said that Kimmel was planning to say that his words were being purposefully twisted by some members of the Make America Great Again movement.”

If Kimmel legitimately believed his words were being twisted into something he didn’t say or intend (and I think that’s what has been happening), I fully understand him not wanting to go onto the stage with his tail tucked between us legs and apologize to the same people who are maligning him and instead clarify the point he was making. I don’t see clarification as synonymous with “doubling down”, when one’s words are being misconstrued. Executives worrying that his words would make matters worse doesn’t necessarily mean he was planning to say anything inappropriate.

no, the FCC chair made some statements about consequences. The FCC as an agency speaks through regulatory pronouncements/rulings.

I repeat: The FCC did not tell the network to cancel Kimmel.

The FCC speaks through regulatory rulings in a normal sane administration which this administration is not. Again no democrat in this thread has argued that Kimmel would 100% have a job today if the FCC had shut up. We will never know what would've happened.

The issue people have in this thread was the FCC has no business telling a network, "“These companies can find ways to change conduct and take actions on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”

That statement is a threat to anyone with a working brain. I get it you have to sane wash the admin so this is pointless

Kimmel morphed into a full time Democratic advertisement that they didn't have to pay for. A clear-as-day campaign finance abuse. The guy turned angry and bitter a while ago and became unfunny... and then lost all his viewers. ABC cancelled him for numerous valid reasons.

    GOOD DAY

No. Kimmel and many of his ilk are relaying knowingly false information about the Charlie Kirk murderer. This goes against FCC rules. You guys are soooooo Trump obsessed. Jimmy should have been kicked off governmently funded TV a long time ago due to this serious infraction.

Everything is not Trump's fault or because of Trump

Furthermore, this is not why Kimmel was canned. No one listens to his **** show. This was a perfect excuse to let him go.

Dude after January 6 foxnews hosts were on TV claiming it was antifa that led the insurrection and it was a deep state conspiracy. Foxnews is on record paying the largest defamation lawsuit in history related to the 2020 election. Save us the bullshit bcz Bidens FCC didnt threaten the network

Bingo -- if Kimmel was pulling in viewers and profits, then ABC would have fought to keep him on. He was washed up...
