Im pretty positive I hadn't see you express this expectation during other politically violent events or assassinations.

ABC execs are saying they fired Kimmel cuz they couldn't risk their broadcasting license being revoked. You can cope however you want too

We could go back and check - are you saying you did set the expectation after pelosi's husband was hit with a hammer and the MN assassinations?

ABC fired Kimmel after the conclusion of World War II, but it is incorrect to conclude from that fact that ABC fired Kimmel because of the conclusion of World War II.

I think it's pretty clear that Disney exec's caved under the FCC pressure - NYTimes reported it as such and it's pretty obvious.

If it was just a coincidence in timing and it was about ratings, ABC would have stated it was about ratings. They did not.

I've now posted the links from the NYT story and the WSJ reporting on this question TWICE. You can assert what you believe is "clear," and I will respond that I disagree that their reason was "clear." If anything is clear, it is that there are multiple factors that contributed to the suspension of Kimmel's show.

shut the front door! You mean a company put its own interests over a soon to be fired clown?

so now Disney has gone from the liberal bastion of fweedom to now Evil Corp. the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Liberals will be defending DeSantis soon.

the "correlation does not prove causation" point is so basic to so many epistemological fields I do not feel the need to belabor the point. You can assume that you know the cause, and that's fine. I don't really feel a need to convince you of anything--all I can report is the conclusion that I (provisionally) hold until such time that someone presents evidence to change my conclusion. That hasn't happened yet.

I have never said Disney is the liberal bastion of freedom. Corporations only responsibility is to its shareholders. I do not put the blame on Disney for canceling Jimmy. They made a business decision.

The only people to blame here is the FCC threatening a corporation wi5h retaliation if they dont follow through with canceling Jimmy. Let the free market dictate the terms of his employment.

The liberterian @StupidMoniker would probably agree with me

This isn't the same. My point was that I think it was another mental health issue and I later apologized on behalf of the victims.

My point on the mental health is I didn't think we are on the brink of white nationalist violence against blacks

I will reiterate for the umpteenth time: my understanding of the events of last Wednesday afternoon is that Kimmel, on a conference call with his superiors at ABC/Disney, (a) refused to say he would apologize for offending; (b) stated his intention to "clarify" and then double down on his Monday monologue in his soon-to-be-taped Wednesday monologue; after which (c) ABC/Disney made the executive decision to suspend Kimmel's show "indefinitely" because (d) they believed/feared his Wednesday monologue would make the situations with (e) the rebelling affiliate stations owned by Sinclair and Nexstar (f) worse.

The only "because" that works for me as a proximate causal factor (as opposed to a distal cause) is:

"(d) they believed/feared his Wednesday monologue would make the situations with (e) the rebelling affiliate stations owned by Sinclair and Nexstar (f) worse."

Lol. The free market did decide. They decided it wasnt worth CONSIDERING to defend Kimmel. They were not going to risk upsetting M&A over a loser they were going to fire anyways.

they simply did not care. Leftist propaganda is for losers.

They decided it wasnt worth it AFTER THE FCC THREATENED THEM WITH MAJOR CONSEQUENCES. If he was on his way out due a business decision then theres no need for Carr to apply the pressure that he did.

Its just so hilarious how you small government bootlickers have no issue wirh the fcc threatening a corporation with consequences when you losers spent the past 4 years talking about Twitter Files.

You people have no dignity left. Its just blind loyalty to a orange messiah
