Cleveland now controls their own destiny to win the AL Central. They were once 15 1/2 games behind. That would usurp the 78 Yankees for the largest deficit overcome to win a division at 14 games.
Mariners are 23-14 against the Astros since 2023...our once iron tight grip over the division is loosening
Given how bad Altuve is with runners on, I think it’s time to move him back to the lead off spot. Move Pena down to protect Yordan when he comes back. Altuve 2B Paredes DH Alvarez LF Pena SS Correa 3B Cole RF Walker 1B Diaz C Meyers CF
SS Pena 2B Altuve DH Paredes 3B Correa C Diaz 1B Walker LF Cole CF Myers RF Sanchez/Smith Yordan Alvarez is out for weeks
The Lineup has changed so much, that most players don't know where they will hit in the batting order, get consistent playing time or be consistent in hitting. The lack of plate discipline in taking pitches is really bad with Yainer Diaz, Christian Walker, Jesus Sanchez, Cam Smith. Jose Altuve batting 3rd is exposing his flaw when he has runners on base. He expands his Strike Zone and Strikes Out usually and has a Low Batting Average with Runners in Scoring Position. Jose Altuve either should bat 1st or 2nd in the Lineup.
Worth mentioning the Tigers are cratering right now. But yeah, I think Hinch is a significantly better manager than Espada.
Yeah, where’s all the stupid “he’s not motivating his guys properly” comments about Hinch? They don’t even have the excuse of a billion guys on the IL. I agree he’s obviously significantly better than Espada but that’s how stupid people sound talking about motivation.
I wonder if this years team is just incapable of getting mad a doing something about it. Lacking fight - I blame Joe for some of it
i hate it when he strikes out he holds the pose like he just hit a 350 yard drive at Augusta. no you just struck out AGAIN. take a seat
