Kikuchi 4.07 ERA, not worth the $21 million per.

It is in Judge's head... can't hit or field under pressure.

If we had Kikuchi we would be 3 games up right now.

But you are assuming he would have had the same numbers if he were here in Houston

He got significantly better when he came here, then left for yet another organization in the offseason. I think it's fair to think he could have potentially done better if he stayed and continued to work with our pitching guys

And even if the era was at 4.07, the 170+ innings would have benefitted us greatly. Of course that's also assuming that if he stayed and continued to work under our pitching regiment that he would have held up, which also can't be assumed

No way we get Correa back if we had signed him.

Or more likely he would be on the shelf getting Tommy John.

You assume we could have kept him healthy.

AJ Blubaugh is surprisingly nasty, wasn’t the scouting report on him that his stuff is okay but he has great pitchability. Fastball velo as better than expected and he locates it pretty well, change up is a nasty pitch, and the sweeper gets swings and misses when located well. Think the upside is pretty high, and at worse he’s Brad Peacock

By 2024 he was starting to get a lot of hype about how good his stuff was.

However when he was drafted, his stuff really wasn't impressive so he kind of came out of nowhere as a prospect. The Astros pitching machine got to work on him they found a lot extra in terms of velo and movement.

His command was really bad when he first came up, not sure if it was nerves or what, but he's been a lot sharper the last handful of outings so his stuff has been able to go to work

The most underrated player in baseball and on his way to being a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Tonight, Hunter achieved 200+ Ks for the season.

His 2025 season is the 131st in MLB history (and 4th Astro) with 20 quality starts, 200 Ks, and a 2.50 or better ERA.

And only the 5th to do it with 12 or fewer wins.

Hunter had his 21st start of 6+ innings and 2 or fewer earned runs. The Astros are 12-9 in those starts.

FWIW the other Astros seasons are : Dierker in '69, Scott in '86, and Keuchel in '15.

his 12-8 record is just bullshiet.

he should have at least 15 wins. the amount of times the offense didn't pick him up just demoralizing.

I was wrong about those serieses on Rangers case and hopefully Cleveland don't pull off this miracle run. Quite difference it can make when team gets rid off bad apples (betting prop bets on their own games by their 2 pitchers).

First game v Mariners was about what we will be seeing in the WC round if we make it. AL looks so weak again we might see horrible team losing to NL in WS again.
