Yeah; I think they're leaning into the idea they were "smart" instead of really, really lucky. Because, again, it made almost zero sense to let a bad offense score a TD in that situation. The Texans' drive had three possible outcomes, with Tampa (likely) holding at least 2 clock-stops: 1) touchdown & you're down 5/6 or 7; 2) FG & you're down 2; 3) stop and you (likely) win the game (though Houston had all three TOs). If you're the Bucs: 1) you haven't scored since ~9:41 left in the 2Q + a subsequent TD does not guarantee a win; 2) a FG does win the game - though, TBF, your kicker did just miss a 38-yarder; 3) the Texans' offense has not been terribly effective; why wouldn't you make them earn points? One of those scenarios is clearly the hardest, and they want us to think they chose it to look smart. That it ultimately worked out doesn't make choosing it monumentally dumb.
