I appreciate your optimism and willingness to apply historical norms to the current situation. However, the past nine months have proven that precedence does not matter and will not impede the will of Trump.
We are effectively in a rubber-stamp dictatorship at this point as both the legislative branch and judicial branch are on board with the decisions of the Executive branch, even when the executive branch is acting outside of its prescribed scope.

For example our tariff policy: there is absolutely no basis for tariff/taxation being implemented in the way being done by the executive branch. Similarly, we have seen the gutting of congressionally approved federal departments at the whim of the executive branch.

Frankly, all rules and norms that we have come to expect are just going to be hopes and wishes rather than roadblocks in our ongoing march into whatever this is.

If Antifa really is a dangerous terrorist organization than all that means is Donald Trump and his law enforcement officials he hand picks are really freaking terrible at their jobs.

We were told Antifa was an existential threat in Trump's first term and he.... did nothing. Not one arrest, or high level prosecution of any leaders.

Now we are in his 2nd term, and again we are being told this terrorist organization is an existential threat.

So put your money where your mouth is. Make an arrest, or call their leadership in front of Congress at least. Why has none of the Antifa leadership been subpeona'ed to testify??

Also why.... as a card carrying libtard.... have I NEVER been contacted or met anyone from Antifa or been asked to donate even anonymously online?? If this organization is so well funded, powerful, and widespread, why would they have no desire to connect with an utilize contributors who are liberals who Trump says are aligned with this organization???

Correct. The Federal Government does not have any official designation for domestic terrorists, or the means to do so, unlike we do for foreign ones

Under U.S. law, the government can designate hostile groups as “foreign terrorist organizations,” a label that carries key financial and legal consequences. It can do so because individuals and groups that are entirely foreign aren’t protected by the First Amendment. Typically, the formal declaration is made by the secretary of state, often under direction from the president, and the label allows the Treasury Department to impose financial sanctions and the Justice Department to prosecute people for providing “material support or resources” to the organization.

    ...

There is no legal mechanism in the United States for labeling purely domestic organizations as terrorist groups. For Trump to follow through on his social media declaration, his administration would need to create such a mechanism. The Trump administration has shown a willingness to push legal boundaries in ways that many experts hadn’t expected, and such an effort would surely draw challenges given the Constitution’s broad First Amendment protections for free association and speech.

You know bricks are readily available for free. And should you need to buy bricks, they aren't expensive?

Rose City Antifa is an organization and predates any mention of Antifa I've ever heard.

You're going to find a "local chapter" here and there that has some semblance of organization and structure.

But otherwise you're chasing ghosts and clutching pearls over another goddamned manufactured boogieman, which is something you are extraordinarily adept at.

Go ahead and spin your wheels trying to fight a headless swarm creature. See where it gets you.

In the meantime more people will probably die at the hands of lone threats that could have been stopped if our law enforcement wasn't busy tilting at rightwing windmills.
