Democrats can't see the tail they are dragging on their own back, a bunch of wusses giving lectures instead of talking like normal people.

Today's Republicans, along with a chunk of the public (Pew shows only 20% trust government anymore, down from 77% in the '60s), have basically given up on the American experiment - the first modern democracy with flaws but designed not to put all power in one person's hands. Between watching Citizens United flood politics with dark money and seeing CEO pay jump 1,322% while wages flatlined, people from different backgrounds all made the same bet: let one guy blow it all up and rebuild it his way. It's not much different from the CCP model, which has actually been eating our lunch economically.

That gamble isn't paying off though. A lot of folks, especially younger ones who said "let's give it a try," are getting buyer's remorse seeing that the dude cares more about revenge than fixing anything. Watch his approval with under-35 voters and every group - diving.

We're basically watching a 248-year experiment in self-governance try to survive social media and oligarchy. It's like hiring a demolition crew to renovate your kitchen - sure, change happens fast, but you might not have a house left.

This isn't Johnny Carson or some other national treasure--no one cares about Kimmel. They don't need some silver bullet of a reason to cancel the show. And what Kimmel said is hardly a silver bullet anyway--"Don't politicize assassinations" is boilerplate.
