lol. Trump says a lot of things that people and corporations routinely ignore. An alternative hypothesis is Disney is simply using the Trump/FCC chatter to do something they were planning on doing anyway and are exploiting Trump/FCC as cover.

One also doesn't need to understand the history or take a literal (literally, as DD likes to use it) stance on the phrase. It can also be seen as figurative, but in this case, both the literal and figurative usage work. The gov is pressuring a private entity to “cancel” someone for a statement the gov does not like.

 

Yes it is. Trump is doing exactly what all those Generals, Admirals, and administrative officials and experts, including many ex Republicans warned people about before he was ever elected. He is ripping Democracy to threads in his wannabe King and Authoritarian mentality. It's as bad as they said it would be, and unfortunately, it's getting worse every week. He's out of control, and those spineless cowards and suck ups in his administration are enabling this BS.

 

the FCC guy said that an apology from Kimmel was in order. I'll stand by my theory that Disney is simply capitalizing on the incident and cutting Kimmel loose before they may have initially planned to cut him loose.
