They're so damn good. Midnight in Harlem is in my top 10 favorite songs. Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes are my two favorite slide players. I might have posted this recently because I just can't stop listening to it, but this live version of "Our Love" by Gary Clark Jr. is my favorite. He has multiple live versions of this song that are phenomenal, but the piano intro to this version by Jon Deas just makes me melt. And then his subtle contributions and later organ background makes the hair on my neck stand up like listening to Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton. I wish there was an even longer version with more piano. And then there's Gary's slow build up in his solo... If anyone knows of any similar sounding music or artists, please recommend.
I’m doing okay. I just not interested in posting anymore. I will probably be more active when the season starts but as a lurker instead of a poster.
This song is one of my favorites. I had a girlfriend back when the LP came out and this song described her perfectly - hard headed. Not necessarily a plus, Cat, so be careful what you wish for. Now? She's a professor at Rice and, I hope, happy as a clam. Life is so freakin' strange.
So many great YouTube drummers out there. This guy is my favorite. Rock solid grooves, just as his username suggests. Plus he looks like kind of a nerd, which I can really relate to...
