So the Astros starting pitcher wasn’t even in the Astros plans this year - was supposed to be in AAA all year… and then he was relieved by a guy viewed as AAA/emergency starter by the organization… and then he was replaced by a guy the Astros almost released in AAA and he was replaced by a guy off waivers and then the Astros set up man was asked to close the game… and the Astros starting outfielder (who was in AA to start the year) was pulled so a utility player could play in the 9th defensively….. while the Astros best two hitters (Alvarez/Paredes) were injured and their best pitcher (Valdez) has his head up his own ass for the last 5 weeks. Nice win.
Depends on the scenario and whom the pitcher is… but probably Correa or Paredes. With some triple digit relievers, I would actually consider Cole because of his bat speed and pitchers not knowing him.
Wildcard 1.5 Yankees WC1 ----- Astros WC2 -0.5 Red Sox WC3 -3.0 Guardians OUT -4.0 Rangers OUT We do not hold the tiebreaker vs Boston or Cleveland. Tiebreaker vs the Rangers will be determined tomorrow.
Go for the sweep tomorrow and then its a tete a tete vs. the Mariners. That will likely determine who wins the West
Damn Guardians are catching fire too. Would be nice if we had more than a 2 loss separation between the wild card
In this order: 1. Melton 2. Max Stassi 3. Jack Mayfield 4. Taylor Jones Any other ranking is invalid.
Thank God it's on the road. Remember in 2023 we went into AZ and swept them to win the division. We are road warriors, make no bones about that.
