It’s one of those things that if we were trying to build the most perfect for libertarian world possible, you could argue against the civil rights act.

But I’m a lot more interested in us building the most perfect for human world

 

Agreed - in a world without racism, sexism or classism, there would be no need or desire for the 1964 CRA.

This is the problem with Libertarians though, they never consider that reality is vastly different than the world they have constructed in their head.

They usually are not terrible people - they are often fine to meet and talk with --- the problem is the outcome of what they would do with power would be very bad.

There was a Libertarian on this board that believed that every store and place of commerce should have armed security at the front door - and did not understand why I had an issue with it, and did not want to live in a world where everywhere I would go would have armed private security like a third world country or South Africa in the 1970'-1990's.

 

After 10 years of one side just asking questions, I don't blame DD.
It's so much easier to stir the pot than to type out thoughtful and measured responses that get handwaved or be presented with strawman arguments.
