The number of trans people who were murdered in the U.S. nearly doubled between 2017
and 2021, according to data released Tuesday by the non-profit Everytown for Gun Safety.
Of the total victims, 73% were killed with a gun.
Everytown's Transgender Homicide Tracker found that there was a 93% increase in tracked
homicides of trans and gender-nonconforming people in the United States and Puerto Rico
over the last four years. In 2021, 56 people were killed, compared to 29 reported deaths in
2017.
Notably, while only 13% of the transgender community is estimated to be Black, according
to UCLA School of Law's Williams Institute, Black trans women accounted for nearly three-
quarters of the known victims.
"Bias-motivated crimes are a real, frightening problem in the United States, and LGBTQ+
people continue to be targeted because of who they are," the Everytown report said.

 

You cannot justify a murder/assassination because someone expressed a viewpoint that transgenderism is bad. Sorry, but that does not create an excuse for murder. Surely you cannot be serious.

No one was "going after" transgenders. Expressing a viewpoint that transgenderism is bad is not "going after" someone, nor is it harassing them. It's exercising free speech. If the left cannot tolerate criticism, then that speaks to their immaturity and insecurity. It does NOT excuse a murder. Surely I don't have to explain this to you.

 

Justify? Dude, do you understand the difference between explaining what happened and what the word justification means? We seriously should not be having this discussion.

Transgender have been a target and a bigger one more than ever. Go ask some transgender people if they are seeing an uptick in harassment - since you deny that it is happening. Are you scientifically minded person? Based on what are you concluding that harassment hasn't increased? And the right has gone much farther than "expressing a viewpoint" - calling a group mentally ill and violent and evil and making them out to be subhuman isn't a viewpoint, it's pure and simply hate.

The "left' had nothing to do with it. This was 100% on the right. Charlie Kirk didn't deserve it. He most likely wasn't the direct cause of the harassment the killers S.O. faced - but he was part of the movement, and that young man saw an opportunity to take his anger out at a convenient target and that's what he did.

When you spread hate, it's going to cause strife. That's the goal. Provoke the other side into violence to give yourself the moral highground to commit even greater violence back.

There was no conspiracy here. Shooters don't go bragging about what they are going to do befor ethey do it because SOMEONE will turn them in and they know it. Despite what MAGA people think, most on the left (and by most we are talking nearly everyone) abhors violence and doesn't want this ****. So no, this guy isn't going to be sharing his plan with anyone.

I'm still relatively surprised by all the back and forth. Try not to read too much online, because you really don't know what is true. First it's for sure some type of leftist, then he's a groyper. But oh wait, he had to have military training, or he's the fall guy. His parents are MAGA, he is too! Wait, transgender boyfriend. No wait, he's just renting a room. He did it for the lulz. In the meantime, I think the country should try to tone it down. Words don't hurt people (at least I remember saying "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" on the bus going to school). This guy (allegedly) is the shooter. He's the bad guy. But it doesn't help when we say so and so pushed violence. People left and right are both saying things the "other side" don't like, and when we call those words violence, it opens up for this type of thing to happen.

I think ultimately we've lost sight of the fact that people are valuable. Period. Lives are not worth you making a point.

 

People are still (willfully?) blind to just how militant/organized/violent the trans/antifa movement is.

If trans folks have some kinda militia movement going on they absolutely suck at it.

The number of trans shooters can probably be recorded on two hands... and the number of those whose motivations were explicitly tied to their trans-identity or politics is likely even fewer.

But hey, keep pissing your pants over an imagined threat. It's kinda what you've done so well over the last 20+ years.

 

The amount of teachers that have been exposed celebrating Kirk's murder is absolutely mind blowing. Why are these people around kids?

 

Distinguish between the number willing to commit the act vs the number offering encouragement and operational support.

 

That's probably not a road you want to go down given the historical scoreboard.
