Hes starting on ESPN depth chart. @ Shooting Guard https://www.espn.com/nba/team/depth/_/name/hou PG - Fred SG - Reed ? SF - Amen PF - Durant C - Sengun What could go wrong?
Should we - Yes. Will we - No This team will never win anything with FVV starting he is old, slow, and short - his best days are in the rearview mirror. He should be a backup. DD
There's some undeserved disrespect right there... smh.... makes me wish we had a "dont like" option...
Just for the record, that link also shows Cam Whitmore and Jock Landale on the Rockets depth chart .... Cam is now in DC and Jock isn't in the league. As for starting Shepard - what are the other options? Amen as the starting 2 with Sengun, Durant, Jabari and FVV? Shepard as the 3rd guard. I think that's more likely. Shepard and FVV starting together is an awful small lineup ..... look at the supersized lineup above that has 4 dudes 6'7" or above. I just can't see Shepard starting, he hasn't earned it. Let's revisit this later - after a prolonged string of good / great play.
That’s because Rockets haven’t decided who 5th starter is. Likely Jabari or Finney Smith. https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/...h-starter-to-be-decided-during-training-camp#
I thought he had signed in New Zealand .... or something. Regardless, that link shows him on the Rockets depth chart .... He Aint.
I was thinking more let him start and play 24 min first half. Bench him 2nd half so he gets experience.
That is because most people are sentimental - FVV is a below avg PG, not a great shooter, not a great setup man, not great at anything other than being a pro - and at his advancing age, his slowness of foot will only get worse. He has had a very good NBA career but he is just not a great guard - not saying Reed is or will be either, but the number 1 thing you need to do is shoot well, and FVV doesn't. I know folks like him, fine - I do to but as a backup, he is by far our weakest link. DD
