- Aug 12, 2021 It really was clear as day 4 years ago. Said before he'd played a single NBA game. There are a lot of people in and around the NBA who are not qualified for the jobs they have.
Nov 6, 2021 Oh look, finally has defenders around him, and he's one of the better defensive big men in the league. Who could've possibly seen that coming?
Pretty much every player has haters on Clutchfans. I don't think they need Clutch's endorsement to survive for a long, long time.
Wow, this thread aged like fine wine The only area I would to see more improvement is the 3-points shots - he needs to make more attempts, especially when he has open looks, so he can get more confidence in his shot. He won’t be able to improve the ~27% accuracy by taking less than 1.5 shots per game. He showed improvement so far in his national team’s campaign and I hope to see it with the team in upcoming season as well.
I saw Stone's interview recently, he said he tried to trade up immediately starting at pick 5 to draft Sengun. It makes me curious, so if Stone saw Sengun as someone who was worth pick #5, then why did Silas keep him buried on the bench? Any other #5 pick would be starting and would be mandated by the GM. I'm still of the mindset that Stone didn't know Sengun was going to be this good and now he's just doing PR speak to make himself look good.
There is a reason that stone jettisoned Silas out of town as soon as he did…. Silas wasn’t a true coach he was weak and was trying to fit in with the KPJ / Green click.
I don't understand what you are saying. If haters gonna hate, they are going to campaign against the player they hate no matter if Clutch agrees with them or not. Posters like DD will continue to say Sengun is Scola literally no matter how Sengun actually plays. Clutch doesn't post much on CF. And his front page pieces are getting less and less frequent. Most of his opinions are posted on tweets.
In 2021, the Rockets through Jonathan Feigen claimed that they viewed Daishen Nix as a lottery pick first rounder: In 2022, the Rockets front office claimed that Jabari Smith was the #1 player on their big board. In 2023, the Rockets claimed they thought Cam Whitmore was going top 6 or top 7, and were trying to trade up for him. In 2024, Rafael Stone claimed that Reed Sheppard was the #1 player on their board by quite a bit, and would have traded down if he was not available. I can tell you I do actually believe that the Rockets were very high on Sengun, because their cheapskate/control freak/antiquated approach to running a bare bones front office essentially dictates that they only focus on a few draft prospects per year; they simply don't have the manpower to turn over every rock, or go find the next Bo Cruz in Spain. They barely work out anyone pre-draft, they do a terrible job in throwing up smokescreens and hiding their interest in players, and I feel they do not get nearly enough criticism for completely striking out in developing young players outside of their core first rounders during the rebuild. They've been lazy in the past few years in stocking RGV with affiliate players through sign-and-waive transactions during training camp, and they haven't bothered churning the bottom of the roster while they had cap room to do so, instead sticking on guys like Nate Williams who didn't show any substantial NBA promise. And they're still contenders for the NBA title, as long as KD stays healthy. It proves an important maxim of the NBA; there's only so far that accumulating marginal value is going to get you; at the end of the day, you need the truly special players and coaches to do anything in this league. Hopefully, AlPi is one of those special dudes.
No, dd became a full time troll long ago. He does not count as a hater imo. Clutch being less and less active doesn't change the past. We had an era this fanbase was discussing alpi vs Bruno seriously, dumb coach was praising theiss and starting him over sengun. That costed good guys like ATW their sanity and they go to dark side. This fanbase debates had effects I believe. We could end up like Washington wizards, kpj and green could have 25ppg average and we would be celebrating highlights including lobs and debate which low IQ athlete next we gonna root for next lottery, if he is painting nails or carrying guns around etc.
