One important note is that this is why these social media companies having such a cozy relationship with the White House and leadership of the FBI is problematic. We all know that if the White House and Patel found out the identity of the shooter, and had a few hours before the name went public and there were social media posts that were problematic to their political narrative, Trump and Patel are not trustworthy enough to assume they would not call up Elon or Zuck to clean up anything problematic before his name goes public.

This press conference is crazy. This is something you would expect to hear as an opening statement from a prosecutor after months preparing for a trial. I've never heard law enforcement talk like this when they arrest a suspect.

I've never seen law enforcement norms thrown out like this for politicians at this level to take complete ownership of it, and personalize & politicize it like this.

 

I mean . . .. his dad has to know. . . . his son is going to be executed.

The way Kash, and the Utah Governor are talking, I do not get the sense that Robinson will be awarded due process. It looks very likely that he is guilty, and deserves justice, but the problem is this is already looking to be highly personal for Patel, and the White House.... and they are not allowing law enforcement & the justice system to do what the law intends.

If this was my son.. of course I would do the right thing and obey the law, but given how "the law" in this case is obviously going to be overtaken by people like Trump and Patel, I don't know that I could live with myself knowing what was going to happen to him.
