I love how little we know about the non-humans and their motivations in this show. Morrow, the Lost Boys, the brother, the scientists, Boy Genius and Weyland Yutani are all human or partly human and we have a pretty good understanding of what drives them and what they want. But those alien creatures, and Kirsh, are a total enigma at this point. And I freaking love it. Edit: I suppose we do know what the xenomorph wants, which is to kill every last mother****er on that island. Except for maybe Wendy.
The big plot hole [edit: or Morrow’s personal agends] with that arbitration meeting is when Kavalier responded to returning the data/and “materials onboard” by saying “what if it was an attack” instead of an accident. I mean, come on, Morrow is standing right there and he has Kavalier on video from Ep5 organizing the sabotage. I commented about that last week as one of the list of stupid things characters did in that ep (ie boy prodigy being caught on 4K). Dude got caught by Morrow, and instead Yutani caves in the arbitration. I expected Yutani to walk in proving he caused the crash of her ship. Then he refuses to bend and war ensues…still makes for good TV.
Another thing that adds wonder to Kirsh’s motives is he now knows Wendy is successfully learning to communicate with the Xenomorphs. She also expressed disdain for humans when talking to the psychologist woman. And that Kirsh told her she’s different and stop pretending to be human. Wendy and Kirsh are aligning motives, and she knows how to communicate with the Xenomorphs. get this: Psych lady: “You have to tell me what’s wrong, so I can help you fix it Wendy: “What if you’re what’s wrong dun dun duuuu
Yeah, obviously. But in my book, it’s a big mystery as to why. Maybe I should have not have said plot hole, to avoid a tangent about catching Hawley in a mistake. (See what I mean @Xerobull , why did I call it a plot hole ) so, why not help his boss win the arbitration … it counts as a mysterious motives at this point.
Yeah, Morrow clearly wants to "do things his way", so he might have kept that little detail to himself when discussing with Yutani.
Here’s another curious thing. If the beetles eat metal, why not eat the door … is it not metal?. They can certainly eat the vent door to escape.
I just finished Hawley’s recent novel “Anthem”, which is a dystopian collapse of society post-Pandemic (ie alternative current day American) addressing the erosion of what is Truth. It makes sense he’d do a story on the hazards of AI, albeit not that original.
I agree. Why would she NOT KNOW. I mean I would suspect she could Hack into Morrow's system like Kavalier does Wendy. Seems like there is a great disconnect between the humans and these three Humans -----------------------------------------Morrow --- Wendy--- Kirsh They seem closer to Kirsh (in manner) than humans at this point (thought Morrow has moments) Rocket River
Going by the writing, maybe not. If Yutani was a trillionaire industrialist trained from birth to squeeze blood out of a turnip, she should.
