https://www.mlb.com/astros/news/13th-starting-pitcher-power-rankings-of-2025 If Trevor ****ing Rogers makes less than 20 starts and still beats out Hunter Brown for 3rd place in the AL CY, costing Houston a 1st round draft pick, that will suck.
The idea that Pena, Yordan, Altuve, Correa, Walker, Diaz, Meyers, Framber, Brown (Alexander?), Abreu & possibly Hader could make a deep, long run in the playoffs is not far-fetched. That is, on paper, the best team in the AL (I think?) And if it's not the best, it's certainly on the short list.
3 at Atlanta too. 9-7 maybe gets it done (88 wins)? Split 2-2 this road trip Split 3-3 at home Go 4-2 on the final road trip. Seattle would have to go 11-5 to finish with 89 wins (home: Cardinals (1), Angels (4), Rockies (4), Dodgers (3), road: Royals (3), Astros (3)). H2H tied at 5-5. Texas would have to go 12-3 to finish with 89 wins (home: Brewers (1), Marlins (3), Twins (3), road: Mets (3), Astros (3), Guardians (3)). They're up 6-4 in H2H. Tiebreaker will be huge (Abreu still owes us!). Let's go, 'stros! I believe.
Seems like every team they have left...they've struggle to win 1 game in the series. So...not very good.
Helping the division would help the narrative for Hunter Brown Cy Young candidacy more than anything...
https://www.espn.com/mlb/features/cyyoung ESPN's Projections are still... messed up as mentioned before: 1 Tarik Skubal DET 2 Garrett Crochet BOS 3 Max Fried NYY 4 Josh Hader HOU 5 Jeff Hoffman TOR 6 Carlos Estevez KC 7 Carlos Rodon NYY 8 Hunter Brown HOU 9 Andres Munoz SEA 10 Aroldis Chapman
It’s a defense mechanism in 99% of the cases. It’s easier to say ‘har har! Glad I was wrong about losing/not making the playoffs!’ than to have hope and get your spirit crushed. You can also be ‘right’ and say ‘I knew it!’ if your team loses. Note many fans say ‘they lost’ to disassociate with the loss and ‘we won’ to include themselves in the win. p***y fans.
The way this snake bit season has played out, the baseball gods owe us a lot more than one pitcher getting lucky.
Well, the Mariners and the Rangers will fight it out for the AL West championship. The Astros' can try to figure out what to do for next season. I have a few suggestions: new manager, new players, new coaches, new medical staff, new conditioning program, new upper level management, new equipment, new uniforms, new......
Welp, **** this season. Even if they turn things around and do okay in the playoffs. **** it. It's been a huge thorn in my eye, this bullshit.
Yep, out of the playoffs by Sunday - this team has zero juice - no leadership, no ENERGY - just getting by...... It is like cheering for a dead horse. DD
That's basically a full rebuild. If that is that is the case, shouldn't they start trading guys to get prospects?
