Just love to see what all these shite posters on both sides use as any groundwork to support there specific narratives.

It's funny and sad all at the same time.

 

He put his money where is mouth was. He willingly gave his life for a cause he believed in. I think everybody can feel good about that.

 

The whole point of having a democracy is so things are handled by a debate of ideas..NOT by violence.

To all the MAGA’s out here who I know will see this and understand I’m talking to you but will not respond because you’d be admitting such… THIS is what we are arguing AGAINST when we argue for things like free and fair elections, eliminating gerrymandering, and the removal of rights Americans have enjoyed for decades that this last few Republican regimes have fought to roll back.

Because when people feel the loss of their rights, and see an authoritarian right wing government that is hell bent on dominating the other half of the country instead of winning a debate of ideas at the ballot box… then people get desperate and take these measures.

To his credit Charlie Kirk, while an autocrat, never shied away from a debate. I did actually respect him for that even if his ideas were championing the overturning of democracy at a higher level.

Kirk’s family and kids no longer have a father and that is terrible. I agree with many of the sentiments from Dem politicians out there who countless of them have called this a tragedy and condemned.

But my plea is really to the MAGA people here in our community. It’s okay to be a right winger and have terrible ideas but please demand that the politicians you vote for, especially in your district curtail this administrations moves to destroy democracy. You might not agree with the other 60% of America, but attempting to dominate them will not turn out well for anyone. Be better. Demand better. Let’s talk instead.

Obviously I agree with the message. But still waiting to learn more about why this happened. Seems premature to draw take away lessons at this point, beyond the obvious (don’t murder someone because you disagree with their politics).

The shot came from campus, long distance shot - from the roof, FBI is analyzing closed circuit video - they mentioned dark clothes so there is that - I'm hoping they get this guy as soon as possible and I think they will

I actually enjoyed watching him get owned by smarter more educated people, and thought that was a good way of getting truth out there.

I feel badly for his family, they lost a father and husband - and I hate that we are here with this super charged environment, but I also know that this is 100% what Trump wants....

As others have said, Political violence isn't an answer. I'm sure there are reasons to be sad about his death. But it seems like he is someone I will be less sorry to lose from this earth.

 

I haven’t followed anything about this guy at all. I barely recognize the name. But, some of these quotes attributed to him make him seem like a bit of a jerk to put it nicely. Whatever happened to just trying to be nice and kind. I guess there isn’t much money to be made in being nice.

Kirk is like Rush Linbaugh, a fiery conservative who spouts lies and misinformation and gets paid to do it, this is his job, he had to know there was risk in his rhetoric leading to hurting people.

He will be forgotten by most of people just like Alex Jones will be, but his family will be the ones to suffer.

Violence is NEVER the answer, but it is the result.

What are you reading. I've seen his content for quite a while. He spread misinformation intentionally. But he wasn't violent, though he did give violence a pass. He was engaged in peaceful discourse with folks when he died. I can't remember if he was one of the guys funded by the Russians or not.

 

I'm reading the basic major media, NYT, Washington Post, WSJ, and NY Post. I've never followed the guy so I don't understand the "spreading misinformation intentionally" claim. What I'm reading is that he took provocative positions and invited people to debate him on those positions.

 

Well expand your reading - if you look at things he said about Pelosi's attacker (Tried to help them get him out of jail) or kids being shot - or believing empathy is a weakness.

His talking to folks was admirable, but he got OWNED by anyone that was knowledgeable his depth of thought was pretty shallow.

In no way should he have been shot, I enjoyed watching videos with smart people calling him out - I give him credit for standing in and taking it without walking away.

The problem is......the chaos TRUMP creates with his rhetoric - is what causes this.....on both sides......

We have democrats shot in Minny, Kirk in Utah, Kids in Colorado - we have lost all things that REALLY made America great.

Loving your neighbors.....and lending a hand wherever needed.

This whole administration needs to be tossed out and a new one in.....just one with honor and integrity, like Obama, or George H Bush - I mean we have had good leaders on both....but we have never had a lying convicted felon, pedophile like we have now.

And we will continue to suffer as long as the Orange Buffoon blows his horn of chaos.
