Can't say I'll lose a wink of sleep over a bad guy dying. Feel bad for his wife and kids, but not for him. Children being shot in their school in my city today is a lot more concerning to me.
Charlie was someone who shares a very different view of humanity from me. I wouldn't have wanted to have a beer with him. A lot of what he said made me just want to shut the TV, computer, whatever off. This is a man who once said that "some deaths are worth it" when discussing the 2nd Amendment. He said those words right after a mass shooting in a Nashville school that killed 6 people. I think this sort of rhetoric is contributing to a society where an event like this happens...it's a product of a culture with massively misplaced values. Imagine those families that heard that from him at that time..."some deaths are worth it." Now imagine someone else telling Charlie's family those same words tonight. That's ghoulish. Violence like this is NOT the answer, and this is a very slippery slope. I'd disagree with Charlie and say, "No...your death...your wife's loss of her husband and your kids' loss of their Dad is NOT worth it." This event is one of way too many recently where it seems like the whole "they're evil"...calling political opponents "vermin"...reacting constantly in reactionary tone is just tearing us and our Republic apart. We have to stop this senseless bullshit. And no that senseless bullshit isn't reserved to just one side of the political aisle. This **** is tearing us apart. We need adults to lead and stop acting like children. I'm a Jesus Freak, and I believe Charlie is in a way better spot right now whatever that means or looks like...that's beyond my comprehension. But I hate that his family has to go through this...and hate what all of this means for the rest of us left to make sense of this, particularly in a time where everyone retreats to their own polarizing "sOuRcEs." I want to believe that this could be a moment where we all take a breath and come together and say, "wow...the tone and rhetoric is just out of control...let's find what we have in common and work from that." But when I was voted most optimistic it was when I was 18 years old and in high school...at 51 I'm really concerned about all of this. RIP Charlie...Love wins.
Sucks…. But the guy was just a Christian nationalist whose god clearly did not look kindly on him and his personal brand of hate mongering faith. Died being pro 2nd amendment.
Dudes that have been actively cheerleading a genocide for two years now coming in here lecturing people about how they shouldn't be hateful or promote violence lol ok yall got it
I never said it was worth killing him for; I just commented on what bad things he said and as you can see, he's said a lot of controversial and terrible things
No ChatGPT; I pulled these from google lol. I never said he deserved to die any of these things; you asked me what bad things he has said and I obliged.
this is the same guy who said right after the mass shooting at that school in Nashville that killed 6 people that gun deaths are worth it to keep the 2nd amendment
Thoughts and prayers. Since Charlie was pro 2A and suggested it was ok if some folks die to keep that freedom, I”m sure he is at peace. Forgive me for not shedding a tear, as long as the pro 2Aers ignore all the school shootings, I’ll ignore this.
