Of all the wrong sentiments in your posts, I want to focus on this one. When we have things like reasonable bail, or methodically executing on court proceedings before forcing a psychiatric treatment, or refraining from locking away someone forever for bad vibes, it is not out of compassion. It is to respect our civil rights -- his rights, but also by extension my rights and your rights. Please stop trying to throw away our rights to due process because sometimes something bad happens. You wouldn't surrender your own constitutional right to have a gun just because a bad person shot up a school, so why would you surrender your right to due process just because a schizophrenic stabbed a woman on a train? But that's what you're asking for -- to give the state permission to summarily decide that you are a threat to society and to throw you into a hole forever.

Yes, please post more extensive stats. Because the stat you posted (if it is even true, since you didn't cite a source) is obviously leveraging the fact that black or white criminals are much more likely to randomly find a white victim when they are 62% of the population than they are a black victim who are only 12% of the population.

There's a lot of rabble rabble in this thread about racially motivated violence, but even if the perp hates white people, I'm guessing the whole certified violent paranoid schizophrenia thing has more than a plurality to do with what happened.

If you see something like this happen and immediately start raging about racism and lenient judges you are missing the whole-ass point.

Okay I saw it on another YouTube, I would still argue the guy is very ill. So whatever his reason is whatever he said it doesn't matter, he's schizophrenic.

There are 3 million Americans with schizophrenia. It's rare but not that rare. A judge had him being evaluated.


The system failed but it was trying. Trying to make this political about race and the Justice system is trying to simplify a very complicated situation
