The way I read the article I provided is that most of his crimes were misdemeanors. The way I read it is he did 6 years for robbery with a weapon and those were his first felonies. That would seem about right to me. I stand by that. I didn't know he assaulted his sister after getting out of prison

They're trying to frighten members of NATO. It certainly wasn't an accident. Putin is feeling his oats after watching Xi's huge military parade.
Putin must feel like he has been backed into a corner. Russia has paid a HUGE price for just little gain in land since their 2022 invasion. Russia's current tactics are not working. Putin might realize that if something does not change there may be a palace revolt. Putin might want to widen the war to re-engage the Russian people, expand his war time powers and perhaps save his own ass for a little bit longer.
