Created this thread so info that isn't related to the games can go here -

Texans signed DT Tommy Togiai to a one-year extension worth up to $3.3 million:

Togiai did not play in the opener. He had a 58.1 PFF grade for the Texans in 280 defensive snaps last year, after not playing in the NFL at all in 2023. It’s hard to call any transaction this minor a bad move, but it’s certainly a little odd. Does this team know about its own offensive line? Source: Rotoworld

Will the offense be complete trash until Joe Mixon returns?

    Please discuss.

This is my main gripe. They should have seen this coming from a RB perspective and game planned for virtually no running game. Even with Kirk hurt they have a lot of WR talent and should lean in on an uptempo offense with quick short passes to control the tempo. At least give something new a try. You can try to talk tough all you want, but you can’t play bully ball without the horses to do it.

A new system, coordinator and players/positions are almost certainly the biggest obstacles right now. In 2023, they looked fairly lost the first two weeks of the season; got better against a bad Jags team and then throttled the Steelers in week 4.

I think that's a fairly reasonable timeline. Hopefully, they'll be 2-1 (and not 1-2, as they were in '23) when the switch flips.

Heard the Meco segment with Vandercarrschaub. He said a couple of interesting things that were not followed up.
for Stover: "We will miss him for a bit." Could a 'bit' mean not lost for the entire season.

Then he said, "We're going to lean more on Chubb. He deserves it." Which I took it to mean: no, snaps for you! (Pierce and Backup kicker)

Pierce has no spot on this team as far as I am concerned. What is he good at?

Maybe we could sign another IOL to replace his spot on the roster.

Such a sad turn of events. One of my favorites from that 2022 season.

I think they'll try to deal Pierce and/or deal for a RB. I also have to believe they're in the market for a CB.

Totally agree. At this point any of Pierce's carries should be going to Woody Marks so we get an idea of what we have in him as well as Chubb. There will be fewer opportunities when Mixon is healthy, so give him his chances now.

cut Damion Pierce! I don't understand why the organization can't quit him. Stubborn pride from Caserio?

Blake Fisher is Louis Nix 2.0. Cut him if you can't trust him to even play backup. Same with Juice Scrub.

they should be, they'll have $51,642,661 in dead money coming off the books. They're in an even better position for 2027

Other than 3rdish RB and dedicated KR, I can't think of much
