In this possession, we heard the coach screaming "Alperen, move" before inbound. He goes ahead and moves.

Those small details show a lot. Despite being a star and offensive hub, he still needs encouragement and a little push to be aggressive. First shot or possession mostly defines his first quarter.

He needs to have higher self esteem and that shark mentality to output his best. Remember how he excels when his family is around to watch him in Houston. For consistency and best output he has to be the predator mentally.

I don't know if you should feed him raw meat or lash him before games, he just have to be motivated and pushed to limits.

Its so funny how bradeaux and will pretend like they always loved sengun and just two years ago they wanted him to come off the bench so "dunk threat" could start LMAO They literally wanted him traded and thought KPJ and Jalen were the future. People are so fake these days.

It is too cliche, used by Brits a lot. I don’t know, maybe it is just me. I think the wizard is 10 times better and related to his skills, style rather than nationality. And turkish delight is not high on the best Turkish desserts/sweets/candies list.

Wizard is boring for Americans just like Turkish Delight is boring for Turks. You can't please all cultures.

Just for the context, ergin ataman is a legend in european basketball, he has 3 euroleagues, 3 european cups ( saporta cup etc) and 7 league championships. There were offers to him as an assistant coach in nba, but he refused, he said he wont accept anything besides the head coach. He is a controversial figure, even in turkey half of the population dislike him. He thrives in conflicts, has a big mouth, provocates situations, manipulates things but he is a winner. I doubt his coaching style will translate to nba where players have too much power and things are much more sterile.

Why does Sengun need a nickname? His name is already unique.

But if we really need one:
Alperen (pronounced [ˈaɫpeɾæn]) is a Turkish masculine given name. The name is derived from the Turkish words alp, which means "hero" or "brave", and eren, which means "saint" or "mystic".

BRAVE SAINT LESSGOOO. Or maybe Mystic Hero.

    lol

Here are some info to better understand the situation. Turkey and greek spent the last millenia fighting each other. Greeks spent 400 hundred years living under ottoman rule. Turkey fought its independence war mainly against greece and won. In 1974 turkey and greece clashed in cyprus. There are still tensions between two nations about maritime borders. Nationalists on both sides hate each other. So winning this game means more than winning a basketball game for some people.

For Ergin ataman things are more interesting. In turkey, there are 2 major clubs, Galatasaray and fenerbahce and their rivalry is legendary. Ergin is a huge Galatasaray member, he often mocks fenerbahce and provokes them to a point where fenerbahce considered not sending its players to national team. So half of the country hates Ergin and waiting for a loss to torch him. In greece, there are 2 major clubs, panathinaikos and olympiakos. Their rivalry is also legendary to the point of being enemies to each other. 2 teams hate each other to the core. Ergin is the head coach of pana. So half of the greeks also hate ergin ataman.

So this is gonna be a super tense game with an amazing background. Wish the best for turkey and alpi.

Fun fact: ergin means mature in turkish, but some people add g before his name making it gergin ataman which has a meaning of nervous or tense.

    ;)

I am also a Fenerbahçe fan but I am a fan of Gergin. He is genuinely a great coach. And I like his antics. He makes the games very entertaining and gets in the heads of opponents. I also liked how he called out the Turkish state TV because they broadcasted the first games on a smaller channel.

But his antics and ego are also the reason why he couldn't coach in the NBA.
