Actually he was sharp percentage wise. He has things to work on but the Rams defensive line was relentless. At least you're not one of the doomsdayers
At this point I'm hoping his ceiling is Matt Stafford and his floor is Donovan McNabb.. Rack up Alternate Pro Bowl selections due to injuries/sit-outs and get us to the Super Bowl at least once over his career..
He'd have to really pick up his command at the LOS because he's not gonna replicate that hose. Hope he can get there, he's *allegedly* got the ability to check and change, but not sure how much he's doing it at this point.
Hurts/Goff/LJ/Herbert/Burrow etc... all have played for 2 or more OC's and have done well. This seems like a built in excuse for CJ not playing well. Thing is he most likely will improve. But lets not blame his short comings on other people. He wanted control of the offense, he got control of the offense and things didn't go well. He said as much in his postgame interview. Hopefully things will get better.
My wife got her lasik done at Eye Mann Institute if you are interested. She was hard of seeing but now 20/10 in both eyes.
Right from the get-go, the team didn't look good, bad field position, penalties and pressure. I saw some good things from CJ and I saw some horrible things, his running backwards on every sack has to stop, we go from having a 6-yard loss into a 12-yard loss, mix in a few penalties and now were 3 and 23............that has to stop. One early play with DP where DP missed the free runner and it caught CJ off guard also, this will get better over time, only real time playing can solve this, plus the Rams knew he would call for the mike LB and they disguised it very well, but CJ has to be better and I think he will............I expect this offense will get better but it takes some time to jell, let's see how we look by the bye week. We play so much better at home, I think the TB game will be critical to show improvement. Over reaction Monday is over and I am ready to get back to being a fan
If you think CJ Stroud is Brian Hoyer, then his performance was acceptable, if you think he's better than that, it was not acceptable. Simple as that Stafford had even less of a run game and his o line was getting him murdered.... and yet he got his team in the end zone twice. Stroud couldn't do it even once.
Doesn't step up in the pocket. ALWAYS runs out the back. Doesn't step up, just always out the back. Doesn't pass the eye test! wohooo Can't read a defense. Right DD. Just can't do it.
Anyone saying he had a bad game when two very catchable balls are brought in leads to a 78% completion percentage on 8.2 YPA with no turnovers is just trying to tell a story they have in there head. Not the reality.
You are coping so hard. He did not have a good game. There’s a bunch of people only showing some halfway good plays but none of the many bad plays. Everyone wants him to be elite, but he hasn’t played that way in a while
The offensive line hasn’t been good for a while. I don’t see many bad plays that doesn’t begin with bad play from the line. When CJ has time to operate, he usually does well. CJ isn’t perfect, but no QB is perfect. Some of you guys are down on CJ because he’s not perfect. The greatest QB’s in history were not perfect. If the line improves and CJ is making numerous unforced errors, then we have a problem. Also, you were the guy that was crapping on CJ the minute we drafted him. I think you want him to fail.
I think you have no idea what you’re talking about, but talk from a position of authority. How’s that for projection? No one is saying the line is good. But they’re not the only reason for poor play. CJ has not played well in a long time. I’m a Houston fan, unlike some of you. In no way do I want anyone to fail. So kiss my ass with that.
