Pretty standard thing to say for someone who’s not antisemitic LOL. Wild what you can say here without a ban.
This whole game a certain group of people have been playing lately where they equate anything negative said about the nation-state of Israel as "antisemitic" is getting very tiring. It's both incorrect and conflating two things that are not the same (millions of Jewish people live outside Israel, and not everyone in that country supports its current government) and blatantly hypocritical (considering the kinds of people this same group likes to pal around with). Let alone when it's just talking about their sports teams. In any case, let's go back to talking about basketball, shall we?
Exactly, I didn’t even want to explain, because people who use the term are just not willing to listen and even see why conflating the term and accusing people is actually, ironically causing it. Yup, was way ahead of you. Sengun is a monster, Scola was a monster and we’re lucky to have had that guy on our team and Sengun to lead us into the future. Cannot wait for a Rockets game where opponents have to decide how they want to be punished: by Sengun on the block, by getting picked and Sengun / KD rolling, by some threes from out forwards and Freddy, by KD iso or by Amen?
to hijack this thread from the other hijack jack... If we're comparing 27 yr old Luifa vs Sengun, it would go something like this: Experience: Scola +5 seasons, edge Scola Explosiveness: Scola had one dunk his entire career here. Alpi averages 65 dunks per season. Edge goes Alpi. Hair: edge goes to Scola no contest. Playmaker: Sengun and it's not even close. Rebounding: Sengun, it's not even close. Footwork: Equal post moves but only Sengun can give the Tokyo Drift step from the 3pt line. Defense: Sengun Shooting: Scola Initiator on offense: Sengun Ft shooting : Scola Drawing fouls: Sengun Thespian performances: Scola Drip: Scola Passion assasin factor= equal.
Why are we comparing him to Luifa who came to the NBA when he was 27...? AS' ceiling is a slightly better Yao and should be compared to the likes of Garnett, Dirk, Bosh, LMA, Pau Gasol, or Centers like Marc Gasol and Joel Embiid etc........ What I say about Luifa is that he was the seasoned Sengün on the National Team.....a true Leader.
"Death to Israel" is not antisemitism? ? Would "death to Palestine" be an acceptable statement in your eyes then?
Lately? This is the language of all oppressors who want to ditch any criticism for centuries. There is nothing new here, not in general nor in particular with people who support the actions of Israeli government. If you criticize erdogan then you are attacking Muslims etc. same **** forever.
In a vacuum it could be antisemitic and certainly not a good way to express what he meant. It is not okay imo to word it like that. But he explained that this was not his intention. Whereas death to Palestine is the active strategy of the Israeli government, something that is actually happening before our eyes. So while both are not acceptable, if you are supporting the Israeli government you are basically saying ‘death to Palestine’. and this is considered okay by the very people who are using the antisemitism shield while supporting active genocide.
Meh, it's best that the terrorist supporters let you know who they are than for them to keep the mask on. Just note who it is and remember to hold it against them.
My point being, neither is acceptable. Both are negative statements towards a country, wishing genocide upon either. Preferably those statements should not exist at all, but if they do, the cesspool of the D&D forum is where it needs to be, not the GARM.
DD is somewhere laughing because his stupid as usual comment got you guys all fired up, again. Put him on ignore.
Turkey better not lose to Poland, a heavy underdog. Reminds me of the Warsaw uprising, which I believe to be one of the most courageous acts of valor in all of World War 2. A tragedy of sacrifice and ultimate betrayal at the hands of Stalin, intentionally leaving the resistance to fend for themselves. If Tito taught us anything, it's that you never trust Stalin. There is a deep fly ball to left field.... thread is all over the place. lol
Sengun losing would be good for us, he goes home to rest for a month and pickup his kid from school. @Snow Villiers
since only you brought up the subject; one could claim Putin is not much different yet here we are...
What are you guys on about? You saying they are less brown than Peruvians and Bolivians? Lots of people in this country of European ancestry… we are NOT European.
FFS how many times do people have to try and steer the thread back on to basketball? We get it, there's wars, ****'s ****ed up, this isn't the ****ing time or place. I think it'd be awesome if Alpi pulls it off and comes back next season as Eurobasket champion and MVP.
