I would offer up an over pay for Michael Mayer at this point.
Vegas has Bowers. I suspect Mayer feels he is a #1 on any other team.

Give them a 4th. I'll take him rather than the next 40 yr old running back in the 2026 draft. Get it done, 'Tim' Brady

"Carved up" = 14 points and 224 passing yards allowed?

There is definitely work to do all around but the defense more than held their own. IMO they underperformed toward the end of the last season, especially in the secondary, but I expect a top 5 defense this year.

Yeah overall I get they limited the Rams, the problem that I have is that the d line didn’t get as much pressure as I wanted and the rams were good on 3rd down.

In key moments, including that last first down to finally ice it, the defense wasn’t prepared and that’s hard to understand. The entire world knew the Rams were going to run play action for the 487th time and they did and the second level of the defense still bit on the fake. They got burned on a touchdown earlier in the game with the same BS. Jalen Pitre continues to cover the best receivers for reasons I literally cannot understand.

    Texans restructured S C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s contract.
According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Texans are converting $7.75 million of Gardner-Johnson’s base salary into a $6.58 million signing bonus that will free up just over $3.086 million in cap space. Gardner-Johnson is in the second year of a three-year deal he originally signed with the Eagles in 2024, but can be released with no dead cap hit if the team opts to move on from him at the end of this season.

Defense forced a late turnover; otherwise, Rams were positioned to put game away - with an old, beat-up Matt Stafford and an offense down Puka for ~35% of the game. Rams were 7/13 on 3rd down. Texans had 3 sacks - but one was a bad snap. Otherwise, DeMeco was not able to generate pressure.

The defense very obviously wasn't the reason they lost yesterday. But I didn't think it was a particularly good performance, either. When the Rams needed to make a play - for the most part, they did.

At one point during the game they showed a graphic stating 12.1 avg yards on 3rd down.

Google AI say they finished at 6.1, but haven't looked to average out the 3rd down distance.
