Against Mike McDonald. 57% pressure rate. We are so F$cked this season. We’re gonna get destroyed by most of the AFC South and NFC South D lines.
I was pissed after the game but I’m better today. Game one, was a bit to be expected, right? That punch out was an incredible play and we could not stop puka, that was the difference…
me too, brother. ima choose to be optimistic and say that the O can't get worse and that we won't play against puka every week. he absolutely destroyed us.
This needs to be talked about more. Demecos D might do wonders against mid tier QBs but he gets freaking carved up by veteran QBs and OC who scheme to isolate Pitre. Sucks that we played McVey early cuz he just gave the blueprint to all our opponents on how to exploit us for the remaining 16 games.
The sad part is we couldn't afford the best free agents for our Online and Center positions this year and certainly won't be able to down the road with all the big contracts coming up with Anderson, Stroud, and Stingley. They are going to get huge contracts. Gotta hope we get lucky in future drafts of our OLine, and get them early. I just hope the picks we got this year become really good with time. It doesn't matter what QB, receivers, or running backs we have if our QB is pressured more than most, and our running game is average most of the time. We still have to be able to score touchdowns vs punting so much against great teams and great coaches.
2 years two injuries. If I'm a tight end I do not want to go to Houston. Thats where we go to die. Signed, Everyone but Owen Daniels
agreed... would have also accepted "football malpractice" as an acceptable description. I totally get that you can't get experience till you start doing the job... but even the ones that do have sustained long-term success ended up struggling initially (even if they were given future HOF QB's). You don't mess with a young QB's development. Washington is doing exactly what Houston should have done the second they knew Stroud could not just adjust to this level... but thrive at this level. Two OC's... a revolving door at RB... a revolving door now in the O-line.... and yet he's still keeping this team in games driving in position to score the go ahead TD (let alone winning playoff games last year). Stroud is still going to be considered "something" to have withstood all that. He's still a 23 year old with his entire career ahead of him... but you are correct that he's going to get pretty expensive here soon, and this team is not really closer to competing than they were his rookie season.
