1. Tommie, clearly, you aren’t wanting to go do something else. 2. I wasn’t talking to you. 3. Several people are finding this entertaining as hell. So yea, my statement stands. If people are finding this annoying, I will let you go
My opinion, if you're not a moderator, then report the poster(s) and move on. 99.9% of the time that dumb political interjection dies, and we all move on. Case closed. By "calling out" posters, right or wrong it's almost guaranteed that you'll be engaged and since you're emotional, (pissed) you'll jump right in, and you'll create multiple pages of arguing. Supposedly, the reason you spoke up was to rid this forum of political talk, yet you accomplished multiple pages of arguing which in my opinion is far more egregious than a couple small inappropriately placed posts. I've been in this forum a long time and I can tell you for certain that "those posts" come from both sides. Mr. Scarface is one that does it in here quite frequently during his "I heart Dusty posts". BTW, you also managed to get in your own political jab in on #1693 but yet you want politics out. Again, let the moderators handle it so you're not wasting energy and becoming part of the problem.
I respect this take. I’m willing to be considered part of the problem for a few pages here to make a point. And yes, I will look up Mr Scarface’s posts to see them for myself. If he is instigating political crap here, hopefully it got reported and rebuked by others. And if he is instigating from the other side of the political spectrum, then I missed it and have learned something new. I can tell you I’m never going to instigate the problem. I choose to go on about it because I want to make a point. But I’ll never be the original source of it. Appreciate your take on this.
Serious question - are you the oldest active member of CF? Either that or you hung out w a grandpa a lot and learned about music from a long time ago. I was gonna ask if you watch Gunsmoke, but that’s a bad question bc I watched reruns.
To paraphrase Mike Gundy: I'm a man, I'm 50 But more to your point: Your "either that or..." line is pretty spot-on. Between my parents and grandparents, as a kid I had access to a pretty amazing and diverse collection of albums. I was a pretty voracious consumer of anything I could listen to, or read.
I was not so fortunate. My parents music was, shall I say, screechy old Asian women singing about unrequited love. As such, 104 KRBE and the Q morning zoo defined my early musical taste. And the current ran fast at the Ocean Club.
An endless loop of screeching Asian women sounds like one of Dante's various Circles of Hell. To answer your other question...my grandmother liked Bonanza and Gunsmoke, of course, but MASH reruns would come on every day around noon and when I was living/working with her that's what we'd watch during our lunch break
Off topic but I do love me some ME TV where you can catch all the old shows...............watched All in the Family last night while drowning my Texans sorrow with a Bud Light, Archie Bunker would never live on today`s air waves
As a certified Chef De Cuisine, I am saddened and bear no responsibility for anything in my past. Chefs are a different breed.
I have noticed two things while reading the last three pages of this forum. I am firmly convinced that the tenor of this talk board rises and falls with the performance of the Astros. We win everyone seems pretty happy. The Astros hit the skids and it's like sharing a living room with three teenage girls whose periods have synced up. Number two, This thread has been more entertaining than the last three weeks of Astros baseball. Thank you all for keeping me engaged.
As much as I hate the year 2020, I believe we watched all the old shows on ME TV. I was one when Hogans ended in 71’ so aside from catching it on an occasion and knowing Cranes demise I hadn’t seen many but man what a show that was. Of course AITF tops them all, I had never seen the Edith death episode, that one tore me up, but it also is another all time classic that should be priority viewing. Like Hemsley, O’Connor was just an incredible actor all around.
