Not sure why you keep talking about the NBA when Sengun fans are saying Sengun is already a better international player than Scola. What has Sengun done in international basketball that's more accomplished than Scola? I'll wait

For starters, he is averaging 21.6 pts, 9.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists while being the main focus of opposing defenses. Not surprisingly he is performing better than Scola. People are saying Sengun is the better player, not the player with more accolades.

Noone is saying that Alpi is better on the international level. Scola played his best performances for the NT and he played a loooong time.

Alpi is at the start of his international career but he is absolutely dominating EuroBasket right now. 7th in scoring, 2nd in rebs, 3rd in assists. Only player with 6 player of the game awards. But of course this is EuroBasket, if Türkiye is eliminated next round, all those things mean nothing. But if he manages to get into the final, it is a huge international success for such a young player.

The difference would be that no NBA team was reliant on Scola but if the Rockets ordered Sengün to prioritize NBA preparation over National team play, you bet Sengün would be between a rock and a hard place.......preferring the Rockets.

Scola was a good 4th or 5th option .....but the Rockets or any other team could survive letting him go to the National team.

Scola getting injured is not going to derail the Rockets' Season like a Sengün injury with the NT would.

What a weird tournament. The top teams are missing a few big names but still the underdogs are surprisingly strong.

Türkiye will play against Poland in the next round and should be careful. Poland will probably apply the same tactic as Sweden. Try to slow down Alpi as much as possible and hope the rest of the team misses their shots.

To be fair that should be every team's tactic, Alpi's the only one who can take over the game. That's part of what makes it so compelling as a Rockets fan despite not having any connection at all to the nation. It's like a 90's sports movie, we're watching the teams throw everything at the young superstar to see if he can overcome.

Luka just scored 30 in the first half against Italy. If Slovenia makes it to the final, he will be the MVP.

One of Luka, Giannis and Joker must survive ....or two. And so he did.

I really hope Al-P's 3pt shot carries over to the NBA this season.

There’s a lot of antisemetic trash on the forum, idk why it’s allowed in the basketball part of the bbs though.

Yeah, I'm not gonna try to adjudicate what's in bounds or out of bounds in political discussion. I'll leave that to Clutch or others, as far as D&D goes. The only rule I want to lay down here is that the GARM is for basketball talk, and specifically about the Rockets. Any political discussions, or discussions about political discussions, should move to D&D.

Yeah, tired of antisemitism as well. The whole Palestine-Israel conflict issues need to be kept D&D. There is a reason I never go to that cesspool.

In that section if you want all jews to die, or all black people to die, or all redheads to die, that’s great snd you can yell it as loud and proud as you want. But it should be an automatic ban when you do it in any other section of the forum.

I don't agree with all the crazy stuff being said but at least I don't have to read it.
