I agree. I really liked their traditional green / yellow (gold) uniforms they wore over the last few seasons or so. Fine with them wearing the blackout uniforms once a year, but all the other games I'd go with what they've been wearing recently.

Having said that, these uniforms are designed to please potential recruits and not old dudes like me :)

I watch less and less college football every sesson and this is how I've felt about ESPN's coverage of it, in general, the last few years. They've sucked the joy out of it by overhyping and manufacturing storylines about certain teams, coaches, and players. It's like this artificial fervor their aiming at casual or first-time fans, but it completely turns me off. They've always done this to a certain extent, but it's just gotten too much.

I totally understand what you are saying. This is why the only things I watch on ESPN are the games themselves (NOT including the pre-game chatter) and sometimes late night SportsCenter for highlights. Plus, I very selectively watch videos from their YouTube channel.

Based on their behavior, I guess ESPN's existence would be at stake if they didn't manufacture boatloads of narratives each and every week. The junk is often so contrived and artificial I don't understand why everyone isn't turned off.

From what little I've seen so far, SMU is a strong contender for the National Championship, Cheerleader Hotness Division

Mike Gundy shouldn't have opened his big fat mouth right before playing Oregon.

ACC is letting the Georgia Tech/Clemson broadcast televise the replay discussions between the on field ref and the replay center. You're watching the same highlights they are, and listening to the conversation. Very cool, everyone should do this.

Clemson is cooked this year. I don't know why they got so much preseason hype. I doubt the media ever gives Dabo the benefit of the doubt again.

Surprisingly little defense being played in the Tenn/Georgia game

Tenn: 8 play, 75 yard TD drive
Georgia: 6 play, 75 yard TD drive
Tenn: 2 play, 75 yard TD drive

Zero incomplete passes, zero negative plays, zero penalties. 9:29 seconds left in the 1Q

Start of the 4Q with Tenn/GA, total yards are even at 356 apiece.

    28-27 Tennessee

Blame Josh Heupel for turning into Les Miles on the previous possession and not even trying to score touchdown to ice the game.

Totally boneheaded. He deserves this. I originally wanted Tennessee to win, but now I want Georgia.
