Yup, but thank God they pulled it out. Larkin and Korkmaz with horrible shooting kept it close. Maybe a good thing to experience a close game and seeing that they can pull it out.
What an annoying game. Alpi played his worst game but still had 24/16/6. He missed three important FTs but I thought that his FTs looked in general. He also looked extremely exhausted. He had a clutch block and dunk at the end of the game. This was a good wake up game for Alpi and Türkiye. They now have 2 days to rest. I expect them to perform better in the next round.
Korkmaz is a net negative for Türkiye. The man lost all of his confidence. Needs to be moved to end of the bench.
That's all we got. Other bum forward can't even put the ball on the ground. God forbid if cedi is hurt, we are playing with 3 guards.
Alp was not very concentrated in the first half, but he was playing fine in the 2nd except those missed FTs. Türkiye's hot shootings no surprise was not sustainable and luckily the shots were off against Sweden, not other juggernauts. The guards are very inconsistent and that could be the team's Achilles heels.
After the match both coach and alpi dwelled so much about playing hour as if other team played at some other hour. Frigging snowflakes. Cedi led the team, sequences of osmani, Larkin, bona and hazer got us the win. They have every excuse in interview about why couldn't find rhythm but I'll tell you, we got soft and cocky after serbia match. Alpi's body language looked awful. No help defense until last 2 minutes. He channeled his energy only to offense (he failed to deliver in first half) he was talking trash after Serbia game in front of his own mama and today he seemed to feel like he was too good to play defense against Sweden. Attitude is everything. The mindset he brings to the game will define him. He is the most talented guy every time he enters the court no matter where but how he performs this potential should be stable. I believe he needs the similar mindset transition lebron had and turn himself from whiner to winner. He is young and coachable so we'll see.
WorldCup Women Volleyball final ✅ EuroCup Men Basketball F8 ✅ Good day for Turkish team sports. I hope we will make final in Euro basketball, too Game was too early today and we couldnt focus %100 Next game may be easier than today.
Rockets has a 30 year history with going through the motions during MLK noon games. 12-18 in those noonies. Been complaining about them since 1997. It's a thing. Could be an x-file.
Even if you play at 5 a.m. so does the opponent. It comes down to who is more adaptive. I fail to see how complaining would help.
Germany is playing some horrific basketball against Portugal right now. KO stage is no joke. Every team can give you a hard time.
It's nothing new head coaches/ managers being frustrated with day games all together. But when you're the number one seed and still get that slot, you should say something. AJ Hinch of the Astros had similar frustrations with playoff day games. Sengun's comment seemed more like an observation than griping and even crediting Sweden for taking advantage of the situation: "We are a much better team than Sweden," Sengun added. "But when the match is scheduled at 12:00, everyone might have a chance. They used that chance well. Because we are a good team, we didn’t give up and we won the match."
1st half Sengun: 11pts 11rbds Clutchfans: "Alperens having a bad game." "Sengun needs to wake up!" Alperen: "Hold my Efes." Ends game with 24pts, 16rbds and 6 asst.
It's been going on for years now. What's funny is that even a great game in a W always get some weird criticism, something like "Yeah, he shot 12/21, 30 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists, but only made 6 of 10FTs and missed his only 3 attempt at the clock." It's weird, like a section of our fanbase is just completely against our homegrown all-star player.
