I appreciate that he got us KD, he is a decent scorer in the league with serious flaws, never was worth the number 2 pick and while not a bust as an NBA player, is certainly one at the 2 pick.

You want a star, a leader there, he is not that, he will be a nice complimentary scorer - and that isn't bad, but it isn't great.

    Who wouldn't?

I mean, imagine you desperately need someone to come in and score 8 points on 14 fg attempts and 6 free throws..... who else can do that but Jalen?

Looks like Green is Calvin Klein’s newest spokesman. Too bad they didn’t pick one of the fat posters here that hate on him.

    better luck next time!!!

I could not care less what people use as marketing. Both sides of all of it are so tiresome. In some ways they become mirror image of what they ridicule.

More power to those that choose to spend the time of their lives on all that BS though.

That was about the only things Jalen Green were not criticized about other than nails ---- him not being ugly and his physique......just too skinny at first for bball but skinny works for the run way.....

I find it probably more appropriate if you said posters here who would never be as successful as athletes than Jalen Green not as a model.

We are on a basketball forum, at least I thought we were.

I’ll be rooting for Jalen individually, but it will be hard until he leaves the Suns given that the rockets still have significant Suns’ draft capital.

I genuinely can't root for him I don't think. I'd actually be annoyed if he suddenly decided to go and be consistent and become a great player, because he was supposed to be the star prize of the tank, I actually don't want another team to benefit from that if he put it together. I'll be rooting for him to suck his entire career unless he ever puts on a Rocket jersey again, which I doubt.

Well I dont lol I hope Suns tank hard and we get those picks. I like Jalen a lot and rooted for him against his haters but now he is in enemy lines so nothing personal but I hope their team flops for the foreseeable future. There's a decent chance of it too since they lost their only PG in free agency and they are 3-18 or something without KD.

Yeah I feel ya. I almost enjoy watching teams the Rockets have draft capital for lose and do bad as I do the rockets doing well lol. Suns Nets and Mavs you’re gonna lose a lot these next few years (hopefully!)

Jalen Green as a Rookie was physically bigger in muscle compared to Year 5, even should've personal Chefs to add weight.

Jalen outside life distracted him so much that he didn't work on physique in workouts and working on basketball fundamentals everyday.

Great players have said they work on basketball tirelessly from 4 AM to 11 AM spend time at home come back to the Gym again at night.

I think it's beyond time to admit that the "haters" were just the rational Rockets fans.

It's fine to admit it when you drink too much of the kool-aid and let that blind you to the obvious. It can happen to anyone.

By all accounts, Jalen is a gym rat. Let's not play the revisionist history game just to pile on. Dude works hard but he has two things working against him that unfortunately can't be solved in the gym - he appears to have the type of frame that doesn't put on much muscle and he just isn't a fast natural processor of the game - certainly not fasted enough for his speed and athleticism on the court.

I think with continued reps he will get better at processing the game(has already improved immensely from his rookie year) but if you aren't born a quick thinker, your pattern recognition is always going to be a step slow and in this game, that is the difference between a turnover and finding your teammate for a wide open 3. I think that is what Amen so special is he has that elite game processing to pair with the elite speed and athleticism so he DOES have an advantage over others. Jalen on the other hand can get there faster that most but is slower to recognize the defense shifting to guard him so he finds himself in situations where he is suddenly swarmed by multiple defenders or he has missed a brief window to find an open player because NBA defenders are very good at dynamically cutting off passing angles. I always said he would be a better player if he learned to play slower and had "gears" to his speed because it would give him more time to read defensive patterns but he appears to be stuck in one gear most of the time. When defenses lack discipline and focus, Jalen looks like an All Star but when defenses lock in and play sound defense to stop him, he is a sitting duck against those smart defensive teams - and those happen to be ALL the elite teams.

I know it's an unpopular opinion here, but I think Jalen is a valuable NBA player in a very specific role but that role is definitely not as a primary lead playmaker against starting units. He would be a very good bench scorer playing 2nd unit defenses, he would be a decent 2nd or 3rd tier option paired with a dominant offensive playmaker and maybe several shooters playing uptempo style(Nash Suns type team) but those just weren't roles that existed on this roster and his limitations make it hard for him to find that perfect fit elsewhere. I for one wish him luck - his biggest fault in Houston was being the closest thing to Harden like upside in the immediate aftermath of a winning Houston roster sorely in need of a new ball dominant scoring playmaker - the reality is, he was never that player despite the fact many tried to remake him into that player.

Oh lord. The delusion still lives on even when he's wearing a different jersey.

    Gym rat. hahahahahahaha.

4 years of evidence to the contrary, and his PR team still fooling clowns.

Hope Jalen saves enough on child support money in the future to keep paying that PR team in perpetuity. They deserve every cent.

Gym rat - translated to one sided practice techniques.......not really developing a bag.

I was mortified the other day at my job because all of the youngsters I was training had never seen Back To The Future. First time I was ever made to feel actually "old" tbh. Then one of them made it worse when she told me all the clothes I wore in school in the 90's are now "vintage..."

I don't get where this idea of Jalen being a gym rat came from. He's probably a gym rat as much as an average NBA player is, but nothing more. We were told predraft that was a strength of his (gym) but I don't see the results. If he was a gym rat then he would have improved and changed his game to be a better player. That didn't happen.

I actually think it's not that he's not in the gym, it's that he has no ****ing clue what he's supposed to do when he's there to get better. As crazy/idiotic as they can be at times on Gil's Arena, those are former ballplayers with kids trying to be pro ballers. Gil's said on many occasions that most kids just have these same kind of influencer trainers who just charge a bunch of money to teach flashy moves and do mostly useless drills so the young kids as a majority just aren't learning a damn thing. Jalen skipped college and then had Silas so he never actually learned how to make the practise improve his game, he just continued with the same useless drills and "moves" that got him nowhere. We saw it with his training videos, he was never lifting or training the things we could all see he needed, it was all that bouncing around with rubber bands around his ankles and then the same crappy step back drills with a bunch of regular looking dudes waving paddles around.
