Haven’t watched the new Superman but Cavil’s Superman was very good. MoS really upped the ante with world class fights and catastrophes.

I wasn’t aware that changing the size of his cape from panel to panel was one of his superpowers.

Thought the last Superman was refreshingly old school and fun, but thought the mistake they made was that they included a very adult plot into a movie that was geared toward fun. In the 79 movie the plot was light and simple, knock California into the ocean. This plot was a little heavy with the politics and moral ambiguity Superman was dealing with and I think that conflicted with the old comic book vibe.

so I wonder, what will they try to do here.

I wanted to like superman but something just didn't click for me. It wasn't bad. I liked that they were not doing backstory but it made it hard to care about anyone in the movie. Also, I dunno why but I have such a hard time picturing Batman added to this world later. I'm sure there are comics showing this stuff but weird octopus alien things attacking being the norm daily seems like a lot for Batman.

Cavill's interpretation was far superior. The new Superman may have worked better as a TV show, rather than trying to cram everything in 2 hours like it did. It felt like watching a TikTok version of Superman.
