If Sengun elevates his game to the point where he hits threes at a reasonable clip and drives well, I’m really not sure what his ceiling is. It opens everything up both for him and the team in general.
Looks like he's jumping higher too. Seeing him grab some rebounds over the crowd is great. I have never been 100% sold on Sengun, but he looks GOOD here. Driving, hitting 3s, defense ... passing still limited, but so are his teammates so I can't blame him. If we get this Sengun, Amen progresses at all, and Durant stays healthy the Rockets are going to be fantastic by the second half of the year at least.
Just like he became a decent defender, better rebounder while transforming his body in one season. His biggest strengths are his maturity, self awareness and drive to improve.
Yep. Long term, the Rockets need one of Amen and Alpi to become a shooter, most likely. Alpi shooting would take away how defenses defend him now in the NBA.
They are letting him shoot by design, and our boy is punishing them! Great time to get his confidence in letting the ball fly.
Yeah. This will be a fun year to watch. Listening to a podcast a few weeks ago I realized that with the Thunder having won and the record they had last year, along with the Nuggets being a vet team. The Rockets could perhaps really push for the 1st seed avoiding one of those teams and also potentially play one of the exhausted after having to beat the other in the western conference finals. I think it's possible you need the luck of health and these young guys to take advantage of their opportunity and improve this offseason.
